Every squad had their own personal website and most squads had a baby-squad where people wanting to join the main roster could go. Pretty sure XuVi and Blue Moon Allstars did that I think, maybe HOTA as well. Infamous SL also... good squad RIGHT ERIC????
Has a lot to do with nobody giving a shit anymore too admins were better because they had more reason to care

Hard to care when admins now a days just get shit on by the same people over and over without any respect for what they are doing for the league in that role.

bingo
Infantry remastered, Sony lets go.
If the admins were more transparent and asked the public about issues and appeals, and didn't promote from within with no vote from the public there'd be a lot less bad blood. We don't even need an admin everything should be voted through a democratic poll.

Fairly certain during the off-season multiple posts were made to bring up changes. Same with polls. Brought in fresh faces to the "advisory role" for even more input. And people still complained or refused to try any of the changes outright and based their opinions on how some of the class changes would impact league play by the pub spam. As admin I tried to be more and more transparent especially the past 2 seasons but yall still bitched and moaned. lol. Not worth the time or effort

The only changes that were even discussed were class changes when for seasons many people have wanted and openly voiced doing bigger changes. To be honest, I don't give a fuck about AT, how many bullets LMG have, or whatever. They are small things. For seasons people have been talking about congesting the league with smaller rosters, more squads. No polls on that, no discussions in head staff about that. Where was the poll for flags? What about the poll for an ammo dump? I'm not calling anyone out, but I'm saying it shouldn't be news to anyone as admin that they will be critiqued and watched. It has been happening for how long now? Literally your only job is to give the people what they want. If you are unsure, or even if you are sure but want it to be crystal clear, poll it.
Again, not trying to be a dick or call out dp/eric/yosh/champ anyone who was ever an admin. I re-read that and I didn't want it to come off as passive-aggressive.

Criticism is fine, constructive criticism is even better, the random whining with no alternative solution is annoying and the constant unfortunately. I get that this is a game and we all play because we all practically grew up playing this game. But some people forget that they're actually adults and fail to use logic when it should be applied. Or just don't want to because they're trolling. In a real life situation when has ever complaining about something without providing an alternative solution gotten you anywhere? Never. And again that's sadly the majority of the remaining community. The whole "polling" aspect is fine but you then also have to take in account said trolls, people who actually test possible changes and take their opinion into account. Not count the random players who randomly sign on the site to vote and not even play the game anymore.
One thing that made SL so successful was it was the first zone put up after SOE took over, v2 that is. It was also the first zone to get its own league zone iirc. Forefall, Ucross, and JeffP were close. So SL and IGBL got a lot of early support. IFL, the CTF league on the other hand, got no dev support. We had issues ranging from 60 players being in an arena and filling it up preventing actual squad members from joining arenas. CTFPL made improvements when Yankee finally helped Deek get it going. But then the age old fact came to light: CTF is a hard zone to build a steady league around. CTF is not noob friendly. It is not schedule friendly. There are a lot of abuses in CTF that require a lot of rule and ref oversight.
"For seasons people have been talking about congesting the league with smaller rosters, more squads. No polls on that, no discussions in head staff about that." Don't think I've heard anyone thinking that was an issue at all besides very few individuals who somehow think we need to do 5v5s on green vs yellow because having 6-7 squad season consistently has been a bad thing. We had 11 man rosters, but it always has been increased by those same people asking to increase the cap. Flags? Ammo Drop? To be honest, these feel like your ideas that wasn't really argued successfully. Hell, we did the limited map pool this season and it has been a pretty boring season. Funnily enough, the squads that voted for limited map pool are the least active squads so I guess having the core USL maps weren't interesting enough for them to log on. I'm with eric, constructive criticism is key. There was this one idiot who said we needed a 2 month off-season to figure things out. The admins finally gave in and listened to him. Said person who wanted the longer off-season did nothing to fix the "problems" stemming the league that it was up to backs making constant forum post on when the league was going to start up to bring the game back to life. That also was the only season we dropped to a 5 squad season. I don't think we need to poll everything. I think if anyone should have merit, it should be discussed with the league, not cry that's its an issue that impact the whole community and hope they just vote with their peers. Hell, lyric said he wants to shut down cazzo forge because it's fading USL to Jovan. That's the type of people polling in this community LOL.

They weren't even my ideas originally, and I don't think you can confidently say you know what everyone wants. A lot of people don't voice their opinions on forums, that would want something different potentially. The whole point of a poll is to see if people would be open to that. There is literally zero harm in doing that, and it would shut people up that are suggesting changes. Suggesting the lack of activity towards the end of the season because Bombs and Kaiser Pass weren't in the lineup is a bad argument in my opinion, it's possible.. but I highly doubt it was that, and instead it was because of the holiday season. But who knows. I'm with Eric too constructive criticism is key. Obviously we don't need to poll everything, but big decisions that are not totally out of the question should be (aka things that multiple people have suggested)
