What? Did you watch the NBA in the early 2000s? RJ was a beast for the nets
One year he even went for 22P, 4A, 7R shooting almost 50% from the field

Clearly you don't watch the NBA if you think those stats are easy to achieve

Clearly i wasn't talking about it being easy, i was talking about him averaging that on a team that had no other choice. An the fact that when he was on a good team he was 9/12ppg, on a stacked team he did shit on a team where he was needed congrats for stepping up and doing 20ppg one year.

What? RJ was the third best player on that team averaging those kinds of numbers, are you insane?
There were 4 players scoring above 15ppg on that team.

I don't know about the other players but for kidd who was on that team, didn't follow the nets that close up. But I don't see him being this glory player in that era when there was way way way way better players i would rather pick then him.

I mean, I'm not saying RJ was a top 20 or even 30 player at his height.
But if he's 3rd best player, as was the case for the Nets for several years, you know you're in really good shape. He was an important part of the Nets going to back to back NBA Finals.
The East was weak then, ya. But K-Mart and Kidd don't win back to back ECFs without someone like RJ stepping up and being a key player.

I wouldn't say RJ was some god either, but RJ was a legit player for a lot of years. Probably the best 3rd option in the league at one point.

Jason Kidd made both RJ and Kmart maximize their potential beyond any other situation they ever could have landed in. We all saw Kmart on the nuggets and RJ on the spurs. RJ improves when he moved on but I would say RJ and Kmart had some really great years and close to dominating years with the nets, back to back finals etc and a few other good runs. But that is mostly due to Jason Kidd’s greatness

That's like saying AC Green was the shit, when you had two solid years and they rest were shit. Lol

None of you mentioning Keith Van Horn or Kerry Kittles makes me feel suspect of any of your takes. For a while in the late 90s and early 00s Van Horn vs Duncan and who was a better pick was a legitimate discussion.

Keith was the great white hope at one point.
Comparing RJ to AC is insane, Nets don't make finals without him

There was no comparing the two as far as skill wise, I was comparing that AC Green was a animal for two season when he was with the Lakers and then shit the bed the rest of his 16 years in the league. I suppose the only difference would be AC Green atleast has champ rings. (2 or 3)
I personally just don't see jefferson as a solid asset.

that's nuts, you clearly didn't watch nets games where he'd take over for long stretches

Lol AC Green was an instrumental player on those good/decent Suns teams in the mid 90s.
