I know in the past people have been given the option to schedule matches during the weekdays. What about doing a round robin season where 1 match would be played during a weekday ex; Wednesday then on Sunday. You might see at least consistency in the population as opposed to everyone waiting for sunday. idk spitballin, food for thought. I know a weekday would be hard to agree upon with everyones schedules.

Main season but to test if people would log it'd be safer to go with a tournament.
