Does anyone know how or have any information on how to change Windows 8.1 64bit to 16bit color? The reason I'm asking is because the Map Editor doesn't work unless you're in 16bit color. I've been searching and could only find two ways to do it, and my windows doesn't allow me to do it either way. Option 1: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1865158/change-color-bits-windows.html When I get to the "List all modes" screen, it only has 32bit color options. No 16bit. Option 2: http://www.askvg.com/windows-8-comes-with-built-in-16-bit-application-support/ Pretty much for this one, you just open control panel, set icons to small ( top right corner ) and open the 16-Bit Application Support program. Once in there you just enable 16bit color. I don't have a 16-Bit Application Support program in my control panel. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this? Whats happening is once I open the map editor, the item box is purple and green colors so I cannot see whats going on in there. The Map Editor notes tell me it needs to be in 16bit color, so I'm kind of stuck until I get some guidance. I also tried right clicking the editor, selecting Troubleshoot Compatibility, and running on Windows XP Service Pack 3 and this doesn't work either. Any suggestions on what else I can try, or you can point me in the right direction, that would be great.
I am also looking into how to do this and your best bet is to just switch back to windows7. The 16-Bit application most likely doesn't work cause its only for 32bit systems
