Genuine question trying to understand who is anti guns / pro guns. Thought it would be interesting considering their are a lot of psycho's within this forum such as kobra raider.
If you had the power to make all guns illegal, would you? A simple yes / no will be suffice.
damn quoted the wrong post above...

No. We need upstanding citizens with guns in the right places at the right times to intercept people who commit these crimes.
Look at drug control in the united states. Is that under control? Gun control would yield the same results. Too many people think Policy to be a magic wand to wave around and miracles happen. Money, Influence, Time.

Nice 3k we agree on this. You think that faggot would of shot up the school if he was met with an equally armed guard? He would of got off 3 shots before being HEDCHOTTED.

Truly a simple fix really.
1) Up the age restriction to purchase a gun to 21
2) a Background AND medical check on the person attempting to purchase
3) No need for AR-15's to be sold especially to someone of that age.
As for the armed vets being posted in schools truthfully im not opposed. I mean the military gets paid like shit anyways but we do have our benefits!!!!!!(sigh)

To understand why this country has so many mass shootings is to understand American history and the complete bastardization of the 2nd amendment we as Americans have undertaken.
The 2nd amendment was primarily written into the bill of rights because unlike the United Kingdom which had a professional standing army since around the English civil war ours was a militia of citizens, citizens that already had guns for basic survival needs like defense against natives and killing their own game for food. You have to contrast that to Europe at the time where pretty much ever country made it illegal to have peasants armed with any sort of weaponry and some even had up until the mid 20th century laws that were rather punitive about even hunting in the woods of a lord baron king etc. America was untamed wilderness where colonists were routinely outnumbered by the natives so yeah guns served their purpose then.
That was the primary reason behind the 2nd amendment we already had a armed populace but lacked the funds necessary to support a standing army so the militia system made up for that.
But the problem is Americans as a whole view the constitution as some gospel of god akin to the 10 commandments and not as the fallible document it really is. You couple that with the fact the arms industry has the government by the balls and you get the situation we've been in for what the last 50 odd years? That's the inherent problem to fixing America's gun violence is you will never convince enough people or legislators that any sort of reduction in the available guns on the market isnt a threat to their supposed civil rights.
There needs to be less guns on the street plain and simple and the fact we have States where you can walk in the open with a long rifle even though you can't even do that shit on a military base is asinine. You can't argue that reducing the number of guns out there won't result in a reduction of gun related violence and I'm not even talking about mass shootings which are a drop in the bucket compared to the amount of homicides that are just plain one dude shoots another guy. When do we get to a point as a country and drop the whole america is the greatest country in the world bullshit act because by almost every metric we are most definitely not or even close to other than making things to kill people with.
And as for having more armed security officers in school maybe just maybe we shouldn't be militarizing schools? Just a thought.

The one thing I want to know is; what was that guy thinking, to make him do all that at the age of 19 against a school he once went to.

Well said Sinn. That's probably the biggest misconception of all, the actual intent of the 2nd Amendment and what the American society at large has turned it into.

Live in Texas so used to seeing people armed to the teeth for no fucking reason. Just need to find ways to get people checked for any mental defects or ways to monitor kids that show signs of Hey I want to shoot people. Also parents need to actually do their role as a parent and safeguard their guns. A child should never have access to their weapons. Gunsafes or fuck put a lock on it so it won't fire.

The idea that it's just the few rogue, crazies out there shooting up people is a fallacy. Judging from the posts on this forum, we all have some form of imbalance, some more-so than others to be sure.
If everyone at my work had a gun on them at all times, I'd be fucking terrified. I work with some batshit people.
This is partly why I enjoy shooting you bastards online.
