OP 🛡️ x1
Was watching Infinite's recording (thanks for doing this Infinite) of this match. It is hard to catch up with the action with all the constant spectate changes he was doing. But eventually i got used to it and was able to make some notes. I am sure I may have missed a few details here and there. Perhaps a play by play would be able to reveal more of the heroics and blunders of both of these squads.

This was a match between 2 fairly even strength squads as reflected by the score of 63 to 48 in favor of Blessed From Behind (BFB).

Match Highlights:

_ Backs (HEDCHOT) is at 2-3 after 16 initial minutes of the match (hard to see if he hit his targets due to video limit, but there was no clean up to seal the deal)
_ Solid snake22's aggression (15-6) and law skill (around the 10 minutes mark) was great to watch this match
_ Duer was struggling in several plays where he is singled out for over extending with no support
_ Bias (match MVP)' leading for BFB went well (didn't see too many of the super long flank he like to use but i think it was said that he led for the first 25 mins or so) AND he contributed with kills (12 - 6)
_ Backs' come back attempt after switching to LMG around the ninth minute mark earned him a kill and a death but team won the battle and is galvanized
_ BFB's hidden hideout on the hilly region south west corner of Icztos was disastrous and made the match closer as MS cleaned up (around the 6 min remaining mark) (we are told that Palm was leading at this point)
_ Encounter in south rocks went the wrong way when Backs and Beta charged without a medic and was taken out before rest of MS could move in
_ Another encounter north and south of South Rocks... where Palm stood still likely to type and his wing mates also stood still (in south corridor)... leaving MS to converge wholly to north of South Rock and massacred BFB's other wing... and then turn to wipe out Palm's group as they eventually moved in too late to help. RIP.
_ Chica's final defiant act in the South rock alley when she turned Bias into a Pez dispencer with her long knife.. before falling with the rest of her team in the final encounter of the match

General Analysis:

Mara Salvatrucha (MS)

The good:
_ Can be decisive with a few pushes and is willing to engage battle even when opponent had better angles.
_ Stubbornly push their way into several bad situations and turned it into winning opportunities
_ Medics recognized winnable situation... unfortunately the rest of the marines thought otherwise

The Bad:
_ Too willing to leave their teamates behind (this does a lot of bad to loyalty level and morale)
_ Too ready to fall back (if your marines are all running way before your medic even realize the retreat, something is wrong there, rip Chica and Medikit)
_ Playing with a sniper but not giving him any room to operate (no clean up of sniped victims, always falling back, giving no time for sniper to aim or to get positioning)

The Ugly:
_ Losing a match that could have been a lot closer to a win
_ Using a non squad joined (in this map) member

Conclusion:

At the 10 minute in mark (20 remaining) of the match, the score was fairly close with BFB leading 11 - 9 and then 12 -9... the difference had been players that got a little cut off due to aggressive play and was left to die by rest of teamates. Infinite spectated Duer and Lyric's group a lot so we get to see Duer got left behind a few times and Lyric once. In Lyric's case, there was no call to abandon him but the other marine and medic decided to let their teamate fend for himself. As for Duer, probably less care is given for someone from Foot Clan (not squad joined in arena). MS could not recover from this early gap and continued to fall behind for the rest of the match. They made up some ground when Backs decided to take matter into his own hands and went LMG to help out the front line. However this strategic switch came too late for this match.

Blessed from Behind (BFB)

The Good (fellas):
_ Good positioning and mobilities on several plays
_ Solid retreats on a few near disastrous situations
_ The squad's marines flexing their kill muscles

The Bad:
_ Not taking advantage of early kills and great initial positioning of encounters
_ Playing defensive in situations that could have resulted in stronger wins (full wipe of enemy rather than just partial)
_ Leave players behind (this does bad things to loyalty and morale)

The Ugly:
_ That play in the South West corner of the map there where the whole squad was ambushing behind the rock formation when MS converged on them from both side. A decisive push of one side might have salvaged that but they stayed in middle and get cut to pieces by grenades and cross fires.
_ That one encounter where we see Palm's group standing still in South Rock corridor as he (or someone) is typing while the other half of the squad getting destroyed just north of them... and then he proceed with his group to run north for a hopelessly outnumbered fight. (sorry Palm, we still friends right)

Conclusion:
For a squad having less aggressive marines, their strategy worked out in this match. Most encounters they had the initial advantage thanks to good positioning but their passivity allowed their opponent to fight from a disadvantaged position into a fairly even fight where anything could happen. Teamates gets left behind as their more aggressive elements is being tempered by the rest, more docile elements and their tendency to play defensively. This could have impacts down the road where they will need these players to be aggressive but they have since learned that falling back means not being destroyed 1v5. We would like to see more aggression from this squad in the future.
