Appearing as though they were personally insulted by Tyrael's success with Darkslayers in USL in Season 25, Angelus brought a bevy of Capture the Flag veterans across the Rubicon to face off against the rest of us Skirmish Leaguers to prove that CTF is not a league for the faint of heart. A cadre of almost entirely new players to the league, they have brought with them an air of excitement as there is NOTHING better in this league than unknown entities, and whole team full of them encourages all of us that the future of USL is still in the making. Angelus contacted us in the "Spec Chat" section of the Discord asking, "Is there still room for a new team in USL". Several questions later and there is a new team in USL comprised of several brand new players with a dash of experience here and there. By far the best decision Angelus made though was bringing the tried and true skirmish legend Yosh on as his co-captain, a player who has regularly played at the top level of this game. His experience will be invaluable as every single practice and squad battle will be translated into teaching moments, and if they soak up that knowledge from Yosh I have zero doubt that Macrodata Refinement will be tremendously improved both individually and as a team by the end of this season. For people we know about - Axidus, Yosh, Grump, Bonds, and even Herthbul - these guys are going to contribute, and in big ways. Grump and Bonds are both incredibly quality medics, and a first-time team couldn't ask for better healers out of the gate. I wonder if Grump moves to marine and allows a newer player to fill that 2nd medic role because of the lack of experience on flank/main though. Axidus in particular will need to step up his game as a lot will be asked from him early on in the season. I also remember watching Herthbul play way back in the day, and he might end up being the most talented individual player on this roster from what I recall. It's just a question of how fast he can re-learn the game. As for RRUser, Verb - I've had a chance to see both of them play, but not enough to truly analyze. RRUser seemed like he is going to take to the game quickly, and he had great AR streams on Birds, but that might be better attributed to just what happens when you play with Birds. But Hollow, Anjro, Angelus, Ruler, Designer, Conservative - all COMPLETELY unknown entities for me (a guy who doesn't know what weapons are called in the CTF zones). So I am very much looking forward to watching them play in the first two weeks of this season. Weaknesses: Obviously, these guys lack experience, and some of their players are going to have to be taught the basics of USL. That's going to take time, and I'm sure some of them won't take to the lessons as quickly as others. But they do have a great starting core, particularly with the quality medics, and with leadership in Yosh who probably will be setting these guys up in positions and simultaneously teaching them about the ebb and flow of this game. I have high hopes for this squad, and I hope they don't get discouraged in the first few weeks if the results aren't pretty. Overall: 5.5/10 - #5 in Romulocks Power Rankings for Season 26

Yosh has never been the most technically gifted player in skirmish, but what he lacks in ability he makes up for with intelligent, measured play. He brings a whole lot to the table, particularly for a team like MR, as he is capable of playing at a high level and leading at the same time. His streams are generally pretty solid, and his LAW snipes and grenades are both well above average. Yosh is going to be the most important player for a variety of reasons on this squad, and I really hope his teammates learn to hang on his every word. But it will be interesting to see Yosh as the best player on a roster for once...

Bonds has served as a very solid medic for the past two seasons behind Tactical and Gift and shown the league that he can be a top 5 medic week-to-week. He enters this season as not only the best medic on this squad but easily one of the best players, making him capable of flexing to another position if they needed that. But I think medic should be the decision at the end of the day, and Bonds is going to be a key factor in MR's gameplay this season.

Grump is a very above-average medic who could not be in a better position to help MR this season. It helps so much for newer squads to start with a quality back line, and Grump will provide a level-headed calm with his healing and offensive participation, and I imagine he will pick up a fair number of kills given those contributions. This team can pick up some huge upsets this season, and if they plan to get those games in the bag Grump is going to be a key part of that gameplan.

I'm going to rate Herthbul higher right now on potential alone. I saw him play this game many years ago now at a very high level, and I know he is a quality player in CTF zones. I know he wanted to play sniper which no longer exists and I wonder if he will gravitate towards the newly amended Ranger class. I think what he should do is focus on Marine - pure marine - and become the best killer on this roster. If he can do that I think MR are going to be a tougher squad to deal with than anyone currently anticipates.

A very capable marine and special weapons user, Axidus has moments where he is one of the most dominant killers on the field. However, his inexperience will show given time, and be it bad positioning or slow reactions, if he is caught unaware he reacts very slowly to quick transitions. Plusses are certainly accuracy though, and I'd like to see a number of LAW snipes from him this season.

RRUser has shown the ability to play a very serviceable marine when paired with great teammates, but I do wonder how he will do when his team needs him to perform. He still needs to focus a lot on quickly listening and responding to leadership commands and positioning in general, but those qualities come with experience - something he is likely to get a lot more of this season. I've also seen him dabble a little as medic, and I wonder if that's a secondary role he might be able to fill for this squad.

I've seen Angelus play a little in other zones and I know what he is capable of, but certainly question how easy his transition to skirmish will be. I think he does bring a considerable amount of accuracy that is going to serve him well, and super appreciate his willingness to create and recruit a 6th squad for Season 26. Thanks Angelus!
