So I have always enjoyed SL more than USL a bit more strategy(yes more camping too). To implement SL for a season to change things up a little bit from the boring norm.

To do so: this would require champ to possibly do some extra site coding.

Now my initial thought is we barely have enough staff power and everyone has been choosing late matches so how would we go about playing SL like the usual best of 3?!

My slight modification would to make it so each squad were to play each other 3x(longer season) just like the previous poll which showed the player base requesting 2 matches against each squad.

To avoid the camping for 30mins we could adjust it to 20 minute matches as well( I feel as though 15 would just be too quick)

Any thoughts or input minus the usual "no thats dumb" or "it wont work" give some actual feedback.

I'm definitely in favor of SL. I think it would be interesting to have and blend better for the CTF guys that are not interested in the run and spray ar repeatedly USL format. 3 deaths and flags would definitely change how some people play and create an interesting element that USL lacks.

In regards to staff if we can make a stronger push to adding more staff. Like when SL was running on Sony you either needed the captain ( I think this was even added later) or a ref /staff on squad to play even in a sb. Push the squads to having 1-2 refs each and that should help with covering the matches as a true best of 3 SL match would be more time consuming on the refs part but spreadloaded amongst more people.

I think a lot of people value SL over USL, but you have to really look at the facts.. we've tried it and had two (short) seasons of it. I remember the "champ game" of one of them, I think it was daves squad, was scrimming in USL instead of showing up to a match. Which we had to postpone 20 minutes until they were done. That should show you the priorities of the majority in this league.

SL there is more strategy and teamwork, and I am 100% for it. Perhaps take USL away and leave SL as the only option and people would be more apt to playing it and scrimming on it.

Agreed Apollo. I have no doubt in my mind that alternating USL and SL that people will still play... let's face it, it's been how many years and we all still want to play???

I was only part for the draft league which I won(wheres my award?!?!?) But it made me really miss playing the league that much more.

And I agree it is 100% teamwork, I think you'd see a spike in terms of competitiveness. I wasnt around for when you tried to bring it back before but were you trying to do SL and USL at the same time? if thats the case I could see why they'd prioritize.

It was kind of a thing before USL season started, and everyone kind of looked at it like something to pass the time. There was no website, ratings, awards, etc.. so maybe incentive wasn't there.. but at the time people seemed more concerned with USL and getting their squads in order and scrimming.

If we did do a SL season, what would have to be changed on the site? I know we would have to add in new awards like ripper/nader/sniper

my guess is possibly the rating formula with it being 3 deaths and out type deal.

edit: as well as the coding for stats to be taken automatically like in USL but that might be more of a mizz thing then champ.
