I like the ideas that have been being made and added this far. I think there is a lot of good ideas within the community.

@manu -- I agree on a piece of the map selection, partially. I agree that at current the home squads really don't get a "home advantage" as regardless of map choice you are left taking the lesser side. If you defer you are playing map choice at the will of your opponent. I would say that rather than requiring squads to play from all maps simply making it where "home squads" get both side and map choice.

@tbxz -- There really isn't a good way to spread the talent from a systematic standpoint at current. All that can be looked for is that some of the top talent finds that rather than stacking for a ring and easy stats/wins that they opt for a harder path and do something on their own and be competitors/leaders rather than followers. At current you have a lot of the leagues better talent on 2 squads in any given season. It's really not fun or competitive for anyone except those two squads when they face each other. That said.. You can't fault players for wanting to play with friends either. At the end of the day it's a game, and you play it for fun, and to play with players you enjoy (hopefully) to play with. Forcing players to play with people they don't want is a sure fire way to see the game lose whats remaining of the player base.


Suggestions I have to rules / league structure that I would suggest.

First the format --- I would suggest going back to a division format. Taking and using this last season for an example you would have had two divisions - (we will use A and B for simplicity).

The length of the season has been an issue. The single seasons are too short, and the double seasons are too long. This would be a middle ground.

You play each squad within your division twice. You play squads from the opposing division once. Or -- 2-2-1-1-1 for a total of a 7 game regular season.

The top two squads from "A" and the top two from "B" make playoffs. Creating an A side and B side bracket. Winners of the division championship will move to the League Championship.


-- In regards to the League championship I think that you could re-implement an All-Star game... Top 3 players from each squad represent their division for a 9v9 match.. All-Stars get something shiny (since it matters to some for some reason) on their profile. And the division winning the All-Star match will receive the "Home" designation for the League Championship match.



-- Another change I would suggest is Rosters --- Just keep them at 15 from the start, all the bumps do is create controversy when squads talent migrates to the "top tier squads" ... And for the admins sake so it doesn't turn into "they only did it to add so and so" ...Let the squads build as they want with a larger roster from the start and if they want to stack they can, if they want to actually be competitors, or play with friends they can.

-- Roster Lock -- When roster lock goes on, players having played on a squad in the season and left are ineligible to play on another if they are not on a roster prior to the lock.

-- All said its just a game.. Enjoy it for what it is and hate it for what its not. These are just some of the ideas I have to things that can change or be done in an effort to make things better.

I like the division idea but I think it'd be ideal with more squads, as for the roster cap its hard capped at 12, no bumping up and making the default back to 7v7 gives viable room for 5 active subs from your core group.

this also gets people to think about their roster a bit more, whether they want inactive players to show for just sundays or just playoffs. or keeping an active group.

Only issue with 12, is there are never enough people that actually make squads so you are going to have a large population of players that are sitting on the outside looking in. Just push it to 15 and give room for players that return to the game.

They typically start the rosters out small and bump them up when everyone fills up. I think this is the best system. You let everyone fill up, then bump the roster sizes up to not exclude newcomers. Its not like the squadless can make a squad mid-season

I disagree with this suggestion. Then everyone would pick kr at colly. The current model is much better than running a full season of EC/KR/Bombs/Apollo's. Manu idea still has huge flaws. Sonichu could take out KR on titan and apollo on right side against worst squads so they can play any other top squads with the easier side on apollo/kr. For some reason people keep wanting some more map change but only if they can get the easier side. The only true fix is if someone edits the map.

Division would be bad because of the parity. Being the projected second seed would have the easiest walk to the finals since there is a huge difference in tiers. Based on last season, sonichu >>>> infamous >>>>>>>>>>>>> leftovers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> blackspades. The only reason length has become an issue is because the second half is when most squads know the results of the standing, and the game literally starts dying where no squads are sbing and instead opt to pub mixes. Apparently some people think "getting people more playtime on Sunday" has more value than an active league.

You can do all star but having home selection as a prize is terrible lol. Why would squads that don't even make playoffs have a part in deciding the finals? Come on you're reaching for something. Realistically duels don't even make up any actual factor in game-play but people like watching it, so I don't mind it as a way to determine home.

I think cap could be slightly higher but shouldn't be increased later on. I'm sure champ could actually look at how many players actually played last season. Majority of squads had a core of 5-6 people playing 80% of their game. This way squads actually recruit a semi-active core lineup and not players that showed up for 2 games max cough tee cough. I would keep the same rules in place eric with defaults 8v8 and only move on to 7v7 if one squad does not have enough. 13 man roster with 5 people as back up should be enough. Personally I would favor for 12s so top squads would have to cut certain players and those players can help bolster other squads but I know most squads aren't as active so that's up to others to decide.

I don't think that everyone would pick KR at all... If you have squads able to pick side and map then you might get more than what you always see now.. At current being a home team has no real advantage. Some squads will prefer EC, some may be more inclined to choose Apollo or Isctos if they are getting an advantage on sides there too..

In terms of divisions the fix would be (from the last season, 1-4-5 on one sides and 2-3-6 on the other).. The league isn't perfect but when you have squads that are loaded it is what it is...

In terms of All-Star determining playoffs --- It's taking the best from each divisions squads and pitting them for a playoff implicating match. -- Hell even MLB does this. Doesn't matter if you have the best squad necessarily and maybe this will help get talent to spread out some by giving players incentive to do so rather than just sitting on a loaded roster for a season of stat pads... JMO.

Example from last season -- Say A was 1,4,5 --- (Champ, Kevin, Sov, Pandy, Uni, Hiro, Backs, Metal, Lyric) vs. B side ( Shasta, em4, manu, killer, qq, fausto, Palm, Taco, ss22)

I mean if Side B wins that , and Infamous gets to determine the map and side they want, does that not create parity in the champ match?

Could always alternate the maps. Week 1 everyone plays KR, week 2 everyone plays EC, etc..

During the season and I forget who, someone mentioned a way of having squads play both sides of a map. I cannot remember how it went so whoever suggested that, could you post it here please?

KR on colly is what you get. I would prefer to watch squads play on EC/Apollo's then see every squad play horrendously on KR colly. Why would they pick other maps on a better side if KR literally gives you greatest advantage than other maps could?

MLB is so awful that it's a dying sport for a reason. You should look towards the NBA where it's actually increasing their exposure internationally. MLB comparison doesn't make sense since their are still great-solid players on bad teams. Can't say the same about USL. The real question is what does this all star game accomplish? Lower tier squads had an impact in the champ match? lol. Ask yourself this. Why is a random sb game suppose to impact the finals? Please give a better answer than the "dying league known as the MLB does it... so lets do it!"

I actually like nos's idea. We should have an all star where first the players have to throw a direct nade a on person. After that, they move on and have to aim a direct law on a player. Then they move on to the final round and have to sg a duel bot. The person with the fastest time wins the skill challenge.
