None of this matters. Stick to discussions about how we can make SL work.

Make LMG playable, face the drop ships towards the map instead of away, make USA trees less dense, shrink map by 1/4 (get rid of the huge empty corners), USL laws, USL sapper.

I wouldn't over complicate it. At least not the first season. Modify the basic SL rules as little as possible. Give yourself a trial run. Assuming it is a success, look for feedback on what did or didn't work well.

Right now the central focus would presumably be:

- Match length
- NT rules (?)
- Overtime rules (?)
- Class rules (?)

15min, Bo3 3 deaths, LMG yes, USL laws no, another part of SL was the difference in settings.

20 minute matches, IIRC when we did the SL Draft league we started it at 15 minutes and it was very short. Almost every game at the beginning turned to OT.

3 deaths is KEY to SL. I would not make it 5. That way lower tiered squads can exploit good ones by focusing out the guy with 2 deaths or going to turtle until OT.

I would stick classes to a strict 1 Sniper, 1 Ripper .. Infinite Marines and Grenadiers and 2 medics. I would change the norm to a firm 7v7, NT rules the same.

I like this idea because I have watched almost every match in USL this season and nobody wants to watch the #1 Seed rape the #7 seed squad for 30 minutes straight. At least with this you can win games in 5 minutes if your flagging game is on point. Maybe you can add stat bonuses for squads if they get a victory in a certain amount of time.

I definitely would not do a double season.. but if we could get 6 squads minimum I think it would be a great introduction for people that have never played SL before. It would probably also spark life into some older players that are tired of the simple death match format.

It doesn't hurt to add a poll for an SL season if it's doable from a stat point on your end. If you did that USL would truly be a unified skirmish league like it was intended to be on SOE merging MSL, NMLTL and SL into one.

Maybe to avoid OT you can have flags determine the winner?

How many flags are there? 6? Make it an odd number. Maybe 7?

Set match length to 15-minutes. Screw OT. Death limit still 3. Most flags win at end of timer. That win condition will force teams to constantly chase flags. Ideally forcing battles, particularly at the end?

Or does that change the dynamic too much?

What's the difference between USL and SL LAW again?

I don't like that idea tbh, once squads get footing on the majority amount of flags, they can easily just rotate back and forth and camp a flag. At least in OT it's one life.

Shrap is way different, also usl law you can legit snipe someone in the open with it and itll kill, SL not so much even if it hits them in the open they can pretty much survive.

Well game isn't as popular as it was.. if a squad can only show 7 I wouldn't force them to go 8v7

So there certainly seems to be some interest but I'm not sure if it's enough.

So let's try this:

SL mini season during this next USL off-season. If there looks to be enough participation I will get to work on a functioning SL side of this website. We can incorporate any of the changes we think should be made and test them during this.

- 15-20 minute timer, 3 deaths, best of 3.
- 7v7 default, 8's if agreed upon.
- 1 Sniper, 1 Ripper, 2 Medics, Unlimited Marines and Grenadiers.
