someone should write an algorithm that takes everyone signed up on site and assigns them to a team where each team is evenly matched/players evenly distributed. try this in between seasons and see how it works. let the "computer" decide on teams and have a 2-3 week long mini season to see how it goes.
after teams are determined allow everyone on each team to vote any one that volunteers to captain that team or assign captains before the computer selects the teams.
