With February 17th only being a month away, I think I need to go ahead and pull the trigger and see if you guys can form your squads in time. Several of you said a set start date would motivate you, so here's to hoping that is true.

The poll was pretty evenly divided. I personally would have favored a longer Off Season; however, I think the argument on avoiding Game of Thrones and the argument that some players might lose interest if we start waiting ~3 months between seasons just won out. Obviously some people are going to be unhappy with either decision. I do apologize to those of you were hoping for a longer break. But I am worried that break could turn into 4+ months, which just seems too long.

So with the above in mind, February 17th gives us the most flexibility to fit a season in before Game of Thrones starts taking over Sunday nights for a lot of you. The following assumes a 6-squad Season:

Week 1: February 17th
Week 2: February 24th
Week 3: March 3rd
Week 4: March 10th
Week 5: March 17th (St. Patrick's Day, potential off week)
Week 6: March 24th
Week 7: March 31st (Playoffs & Championship)
Week 8: April 7th (if needed)

If we have 7 squads again, we will push the Playoffs & Championship game back one week to #8, and we may have to play St. Patrick's Day or figure something else out due to the added match plus bye week.

We'll start with the Roster Cap @ 13 Players

I think the only significant change we'll try for Season 17 is using different maps. I've seen <b>KS10 & Triton Badlands</b> floated by other players. So ideally we'll see if we can use those two in the rotation as best we can. I'll put up a Poll for the 3rd map, assuming those two above are copacetic with the majority of you.

Plz don't put triton in league the end result would be 10-4 for every game maps too big with too many buildings

Definitely won't force a bad map. Boring and old is better than bad change.

But I did reach out to Mizz and Jovan to see if they can put it up with USL settings so we can look at it.

If anyone has the .map, we might be able to modify easy enough to address any issues.

Definitely not a league map though - wasn’t created with league play in mind. If you wanted to make it a league map, you’d have to keep the flags or you shrink the north/south, and spread out the buildings and/or remove some.

I honestly can't remember what it looks like, and I had 3 different people mention checking it out to mix things up. So it got me curious to say the least!

If it requires a lot of editing, then it probably won't be used for S17. Guessing from you and Mecca, you guys think it probably might.

I'm up for trying some new maps this season. As long as it's not bringing back those bad maps we got rid of, lol.

I hope we can get revisions on the current map pool to change the game up and resolve some of the stalemate that occur in those maps. HS new map was good. KS could use a lot of revision to be warranted in the map pool. Bomb's map I feel is similar to KR/Apollo in that it has some flaws and wasted areas that never lead to fights.

There is a lot of talk about changes, but that begs the question, who is actually going to physically perform these changes?

I think HS is up for adjusting his KS10 map as needed though.

HS told me "wait you guys want me to make changes when 1/3 of the community protest any changes by not even attempt to test the new ideas? Wait those same shitters are trying to tell me test there new flag idea? Half the community is under the influence of something."

For real tho I won't be shocked if the current devs, oct/hs, don't bother to help with making any of the proposed changes when some of the community shut down tuning changes and new maps but are a-okay on changing game design that has a larger impact than the other two combined.
