Infantry Launcher/Assets Setup:

Navigate to your Infantry Folder. Default path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Infantry Online
Open settings.ini with Notepad.
Make sure the Assets= path is set to https://assets.infantry.zone/. Note the HTTPS and the trailing slash after the address.
If you get a Permission Denied error when trying to save the file, right-click on Notepad and click Run as Administrator.

So everyone has to do this?

Yes, every person must do this. Thankfully it takes all of 5 seconds. Spread the word to every player you know!

nvm got it

Had to run notepad as admin. Works for me.

Got denied, when I ran notepad on admin and went to find it manually, it's not visible in the folder.

Edit:Nvm, although it wasn't visible, just type it in and hit enter.

What went wrong?

This Friday, we started having issues with freeinfantry.org domain provider. We use that domain to autoupdate the game, and the launcher complains and can't continue without it.

Freeinfantry.org is not owned by the staff. Getting in touch with the account owner has been troublesome.

From now on, I will be transferring things over to domains that we do have full access to.

I understand that the community donates to the servers to keep the game up and running, and I apologize for the long wait. Hopefully, this will not happen in the future.

Leak: Make sure you aren't running the launcher when you're modifying the file. It will undo your changes.

You may need to run notepad as administrator when making the change.

After getting it to work, I logged off and now I can't get back on just like leak, my settings are the same as his.

Now it worked, weird.

Q: See my reply to him, ideally you only need to update it once, just make sure everything is closed when you do.

Made sure launcher was off while modifying, saved the notepad file as administrator, still same problem.

i don't even have the option to open the program with anything

Turns out lobas encountered a weird little gem: Running the game using OS X Bootcamp with Windows XP: use http:// instead of https://.

Slash - open up Start, and search for Notepad. Run that, and then drag the settings file over the notepad window. It should open it.
