I am downloading Infantry and noticed there was two version (Keyboard/Mouse). I was wondering if some players who had opinions that have played both. I use to play Infantry years ago when Sony owned the game and never recalled that option. I downloaded both version in my download folder and installed the mouse version first, as I have played with keyboard version in the past. Please let me know what you guys think or any tips that could help with the mouse. Thanks

I'm pretty sure both links only provide one option, although I can't remember which, but I -think- it is mouse. Either way, that was just for people who didn't know how to change it on their own.

On the Zone List, if you go to the top and select View and then Movement Configuration, you can choose which one you want. From there, go to Keyboard -> Keyboard/Button Configuration to set your button layout for whichever type you prefer.

Personally, I have almost always used keyboard. Some people will tell you there are pros and cons to each depending on the specific zone you are in. I feel as though the majority of people in Skirmish prefer mouse over keyboard.

With keyboard u can go to Options --> Misc Options and adjust View Adjust Percent to 89% so u can see farther. On mouse u cant. Also set view adjust speed to 25 and play with rotation-ramp settings which controls turning/aiming responsiveness

Set rotation to 400 for slow and 50 for fast

Because skirmish is the more active zone and youre just getting into it, I recommend mouse if you have a reso of 1920x or more. If not, go kb. Mouse is easier to pick up but has limitations on your sight. Also mouse is slower than kb on your turn rotation if you set your rru to 0.

If you play a lot of other PC games where a mouse is involved it might be easier for you to try mouse out but it has some disadvantages as Distrikt pointed out. With keyboard you can set a custom "rru" which determines how fast your characters rotates, with mouse it is locked. Also while mousing your character is locked to the center of your monitor, with keyboard you can adjust it allowing you to see more of the field. Personally I have played with both, but prefer mouse as I can aim better and just got used to controls more since I just mimicked my counter-strike settings from back when I played a lot.

Also what size monitor and resolution are you capable of using? It makes a big difference when playing skirmish zones, if you use anything less than 1080p you probably want to keyboard.

So what View Adjust percent and rru u guys recommend for a bad reso of 1440?

View adjust of 85, rru is dependent on the person not the reso or comp. If you can handle it, the lower the rru the better. A lower rru will allow you to make rotations quicker. The issue with a lower rru is when you aim long distance you have to toggle your aim keys twice as much as someone with a higher rru.
