Hello All,

In giving the poll a few days to draw in votes by the majority of the league; a decision has been made in regards to the format. While this decision was difficult to make as it was a tight race from day one - we will changing the tide a bit to see what comes with an old faithful in "Free for all".

There are two major reasons why this decision was made:
1.) It won by 1 vote overall
2.) If you go down the list and see who chose which option: the majority of captains past & present voted for FFA over Salary system

Please note that this will be a standard length season once again. If the 5-6 weeks of league play showcase a level of lopsidedness in comparison to Salary system; we will look to revamp going into Season 12. The idea of smaller teams/squads/smaller maps may be an avenue we will look towards (however at this time, we do not have enough time to implement those ideas-- with the season fast approaching)

Squad Roster Minimum/Maximum:
Minimum will be 9 Players
Maximum will be 12 Players

Roster Lock will be set for:
Tuesday May 30th, 2017 @ 10:00 PM EST.

Moreover, In regards to class variants for this upcoming season - we will be doing this! Mizzouse has already said yes to offering his key assistance with this endeavor. I will make another thread asking everyone for their inputs on classes. The thread will be good until Saturday Evening; in which I will then message Mizzouse the top ones and we hope to have them in ASAP with ample time to test them out (2 weeks).

I don't understand how/why you'd change something that works, even if it only works a little bit. Especially when it's a tie, and more captains are voting for salary than ffa. Can we get an explanation?

Keep rosters at 15. I envision a lot of players not enjoying this and going mia vs stacked squads/ in general.

At the time the poll ended: FFA won by one vote. If you look at players that voted the way they did; more players that have successfully captained a squad or shot callers on squads voted for FFA. You have players like, champion, sov, leak, em4awon, dp, Apollo, kippa, Palm, Yosh and others that have helped this game by stepping up and captaining/cocapting for seasons on end. If we had more players willing to captain- it would be a different story. So your stance on "one captain voting" is currently null;
as squads have not really formed yet; due to format decision pending.

Side note: I voted for a salary system

So because a poll with 59 people won by 1 vote you're willing to change something that works for 1 vote and because you feel that the people who voted for that side are more important than that 28 other people? I don't understand.

Aren't important to the league and haven't captained squads recently and in the past? Why are you taking away from other people who've put in just as much work if not more to make this game where it's at? You've got people like pinecone (no offense) who hasn't EVER played this league voting and counting that vote because apollo asked her to. That one vote alone is your number one point for making it a ffa. Doesn't add up.

If you want to change something due to votes, it would have to be a one sided thing. You've made the decision to change the format under the reasoning that it one by 1 vote (fuck you 30 who didn't vote that way) and because theres captains on that side as well. (fuck you to the named captains voting for salary).

Bottom line is, since salary came into this game, it's been MORE balanced. I'm not saying its 100% balanced or even 50%, but it's MORE balanced and no one can argue that. It's been talked about since it came into the game, that it has helped. Even if that's a 1% help, its a help. Now not only is that being changed due to 1 vote of a player who's never played the game but you're taking away from the many people who've put in countless hours and show up every Sunday to play. I'm not sure what you're trying to get at but IMO, other than Chris who puts in countless hours into this site, there's more people on the salary side that's done more for this game.

As mentioned previously; those are my reasons. I appreciate everyone that voted; including the people on your list. In the case of your list- I cannot speak for the majority; but I can speak for you and provide a rebuttal to your pinecone example. You haven't been active the past two seasons; I don't think you played a game last season either, so would you still count that vote as valid? Everyone can argue different points when analyzing the voters list; my example being one and your example being another.

It was a tough decision to make- but a 5-6 week stretch of FFA won't hurt this league as much as you think it will; With the addition of classes set forth- this will only help in making this game continue to flourish. We will revisit the format for season 12; once this season gets underway.

I know any decision I make - regardless of the circumstances will always draw in criticisms and I am fine with that; I do appreciate your opinion on this and hope you make a squad like you used to - to make this season once again competitive and fun.

Side note- Things you do such as SL Live and now Live Streaming are great things for the community. So please don't let a decision you don't agree with - get in the way of the projects you've been working on.

Albert - If it's not obvious, I'm still running the league behind the scenes and Fausto's simply a figurehead put in place to take the flak. The fact of the matter is, hustler says never trust somebody who couldn't even keep CTFPL afloat and thus when I saw you voted for salary, I knew I had to do the right thing and make this league FFA.

39 games over 10 seasons while being captain/cocaptin 6 of them and doing sl live and map updates. Great comparison to pinecone

Since going to the FFA system I suggest we take apollo/staleys idea to make it a 5v5 with roster MAX of 8 or 9 :)

pinecone is a crucial part in the development of the snakes organization.

Every season the vote has been pretty much split down the middle, we've had 3 seasons of salary basically making half of the league who voted against it unhappy in that regard.. yet they still played. When I didn't get my way, I was told to stfu and stop crying.

Salary management has been removed. You can now freely invite whoever as long as you don't exceed the roster cap. Also, in order to receive an invite from a squad you must declare free agency. I've wiped the free agents list to get a fresh list. Otherwise, you can send a request to join a squad.

Salary wasn't as effective as you think. We still had squads that were stacked under all renditions of the system, but arguably milder versions. The benefit of FFA is it just allows talent to spread more naturally. Typically you have 6-7 marines who are going to be starting regularly and getting the most play time. If you're the 8th or 9th string marine in that squad and ur looking to start, you should look to a different squad. Not everyone does this obviously, and would rather bench their way to a ring then help spread the talent. But I think for those top marines that actually care about play time, FFA will spread them naturally. I dont think the squads we're gonna see forming this season will be too different than the previous salary system seasons.

People should play more Overwatch
