easoe isn't wrong though. infamous has 5-6 top tier players vs sonichu's 3-4. sonichu just has more active mid/lower mid tier to fill out the roster and work with.

if infamous was more active they would (most likely) be better than sonichu. it's the same case as worms. they had all the talent in the world like Legacy, SM, Jekyll, Splittah, kaga, Ernie, etc.. but they just weren't as active and ended up falling short every season.

I have always played for middle-tier squads, by choice, going back over 20 seasons in CTFPL. Played almost exclusively for Martyr and Pure Talent. Yeah, 2 seasons on Black Dragon Society but I got sick of that nonsense very quickly. Being handed championships is for little kids, I like to be in the trenches with the middle guys.

No one knows what loyalty is anymore

You have to build loyalty, man. It's not just given immediately and unconditionally. Loyalty and respect are earned.

any squad can compete against any other squad on any given day. but there's some weird stigma embedded into people's heads that they can't win against X squad because they're stacked. the only reason people think a squad is stacked is because everyone keeps saying it over and over even if it's not true.

a few things we need to realize is we're more than likely not getting anymore brand new players to this game. we may still get some returning players here and there but for the most part this is what we're stuck with. and everyone here except pinecone has played this game for YEARS. it's 2018, I would like to think that in that time people have picked up on how to improve at least a little bit? if not it's no one's fault except your own.

try changing your tactics. different class combos, different leading styles and unpredictable plays, etc.. if something isn't working then try something different. the amount of times I've seen squads trying the same thing over and over and expect something different to happen is staggering.

<b>Infantry 101 (free of charge)</b>:

- ALWAYS get the better angles before you start shooting. hesitating or backing up leaves you completely exposed and people will take advantage of that 9 times out of 10. being able to get the drop on the enemy with better position is such a huge advantage.
- pushed a small choke and your whole team dropped like flies? maybe don't push those chokes until you're more comfortable with it or let the enemy come to you.
- can't get the edge against a certain squad in the open? try fighting from behind cover or indoors.
- don't try and perform radical flanks that take too long and leave your other team exposed. try to stay as close as you can to one group until you're comfortable enough to send flanks at the right time.
- don't setup silly ambushes that will get the rest of your team killed holding on to a LAW you've had saved for 20 minutes just to get 1 kill while the rest of your team dies
- focus fire is key. the better you get at focus fire the more battles you'll claim. being able to call out a target and have your entire marine power switch to them immediately will help you win more battles especially if it's against an over extended medic.
- protect your medics. they're the backbone to your team. unless they're CC and are charging out in front of you. in which case you're probably doing something wrong as a marine.
- know when to be aggressive and when not to be. overextending yourself while your team has a good position is not worth it. its best to hold on to that position until it's the right time to push in.
- always take advantage of numbers. count the red dots on your radar. if you're on a team of 5 and fighting a team of 3-4 you need to put a lot of pressure on them because your other team is fighting outnumbered.
- know when the battle is lost and cut your losses. there's no point in feeding anymore kills to the other team because you're too slow to fall back. those kills can add up at the end of the match.

a squad like sonichu doesn't really have one dedicated leader. it's usually up to everyone to position themselves and be aware of their surroundings. something that everyone should be proficient at in this game and honestly any other competitive shooter type game. we aren't as good as people make us out to be but we are active.

Look at Backs two seasons ago on Light Work vs Allegiance, I mean the guy used coolmo... And he still pulled out a win with genius tactics.

we're all pretty bad aside from the 3 eso mentioned but the activity of the squad has helped someone like kevin get use to not having to play with a set leader ( as chris stated)

you get use to something like that why would you want to waste your time with people who have clearly no desire to improve or listen when there is a said dedicated leader or inactive people that just show for sundays.

we're all wasting our time playing Infantry in 2018 we might as well try to enjoy it or at least try to be good at it. isn't that what you do when you play any other game? it's the same people who complain about the game that make no effort to try and change but still play and continue to whine. anyone who visits these forums or logs into the game still cares about this game in some way. so stop trying to be edgy and pretend you don't.

I can shit on any Sonichu player 1v1... They're not even good... but when you put them together they are good... it all comes down to listening and leading... Im a shit leader... So my squad plays like shit... Im trying to get better though...

I think this squad was made just so that there would be at least one other competitive squad. Your infantry 101 thing is true, but at the end of the day raw talent and skill will beat anything else when 80% of this game is retarded and eat dumb streams and laws or medics who are bad and miss heals. You just need to stay alive and let the top 2% talent on your team get a pick, or wait for one of the retards to die. But when those players are not as active and just want to hop on, on the weekend of course they won't perform as well as the nerds who are on 7 days a week looking for scrims. If Infamous faded, realistically I dont think there is any other team with a chance unless kippa comes back and plays like a bitch to win, I think most people can agree with that.

idk about anyone else but I find that having an active squad to fuck around with and SB is more fun than the match part of the league in some ways. sure, the raw talent thing may be true in some cases but I look at players like noskeeper and kevin who initially didn't have raw skill and ended up becoming much better players on their own. it's not like this game has the steepest learning curve. especially skirmish.

there are players like torch, metal, 3k, brill, katana who are all getting better and better every time I see them play. their awareness and positioning has improved. everyone can get better it's just that some people aren't really trying or just don't care. which is fine because you can do whatever you want with your time but just don't complain.
