Just thinking out loud here.

Is there a reason Sunday night is still the preferred night for match play?

Way back when it used to be Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Slowly it became just Sunday as people preferred to be social irl on Friday and Saturday. Is Sunday just the preferred night because it's been that way for like 17 years now?

Would players, captains, and ultimately squads be amenable to playing on another night? Monday night? Wednesday night?

The few weeks I logged on, I noticed matches ran pretty late. Starting at 11pm or later a couple of times at least. Obviously work the next day isn't a factor? At least not on those particular Sunday night / Monday mornings I saw.

The reason I ask...and this really is for all of Infantry, whether it be IGBL, CTFPL, or USL - it is hard to have multiple leagues if they are all going to try and play on the same night.

As someone who literally played every league back in the day, it was a real headache trying to be active in them all when Intrinsic played the same time as Black Dragon Society played the same time as Samurai Pizza Cats. Fortunately I ducked at GravBall, so they didn't need me.

But say you were an active participant in multiple leagues and a valuable member to all of the squads. If BDS schedules at 9pm, Intrinsic schedules for 10pm, and SPC schedules for 10:30pm all on the same night, you were going to be disappointing one of those squads, most likely Intrinsic and Skirmish League in this example.

Hopefully you see where I am going with this. With such a small player base, some CTFers, some GBers, some SBers, etc. it will be hard for any second league to emerge if everyone wants to play on the same night.

I see your point but is there ever really going to be a second league again? PL has failed twice(?) already since FI started. I noticed Zmn is trying to get players back and from what I've seen the last couple days he's doing a good job, but until the player base is there I don't really see the need to change anything. It did work for a while here, but the league just didn't last and it doesn't seem like scheduling was the problem. People lost interest, people feuded (shocking) and it just faded into obscurity. I'd love PL to flourish, it's fun to play but it seems like people don't have the patience these days for anything other than a OvD or two.

Can't really ask adults to play Friday/Saturday nights
Aside from the guys on take yer beating most people do things those nights, whereas Sundays people usually stay in and watch tv

Ya, I'm just thinking out loud here. I would actually be kind of interested in playing some CTFPL again if it could happen. But CTFPL would probably have to play on a different night. Or USL would. Whatever it may be.

I was thinking more along the lines of Monday through Thursday myself. Friday and Saturday died off a long time ago for being able to organize league play.

Emp actually volunteered to be the CTFPL Admin. Great news imo.

Log on your squads mumble Friday/ Saturday and you will see your squad playing other games. So what are the things people do?

Other games are the things people do! Diablo III!!

I believe you can still schedule during the week if both captains agree? Nothing wrong with playing Mondays during GoT season
