Following this season we should discuss the rape lines rule a little more in depth.
This last Sunday we saw 2 different squads cross into the enemy rape lines. Weather they justify it as hiding or trying to get an advantage, this brings up a big problem. When team A goes into team B rape lines yes they put themselves at a disadvantage by not allowing their squad to be able to shoot. But if team B isn't allowed to cross into their own rape lines how could they find them for these minutes (until camp timer goes off) if the rules won't allow them to even check for the advantage?
Maybe we can throw some ideas around now, early in the season, so we can better this rule and game play come next season, because both times i've seen this strategy used it was to completely avoid the enemy and not to try to gain any tactical advantage.
The only ideas I could think of that wouldn't really change how we function game to game, is when team A goes into team B rape lines the ref could announce rape lines voided to both team, allowing team B access to behind their rape lines for 2 minutes. This would really require refs to be watching the whole game and all the players so tougher to enforce.
If this doesn't work for the community I would eliminate crossing rape lines all together both ways.
I do see it from the other side that you could really hinder your team by getting caught behind rape lines but without allowing a team to check its own base where the enemy can go that they aren't allowed I don't see it really benefiting the home team in any other way. Just giving any team trying to run a real place to hide that a team cannot check without a ref allowing it.

In my opinion... rape lines shouldnt just be red lines... they should be red physics. The team can shoot from inside their "rape red physics"... This will stop base raping.. and if the team leaves the red physic line area then obviously they cant go back in because its a red physic and other team can conitue to push them against the wall and rape...
This will promote the base raping team to fall back at least a bit to make it a match.

How about no squads go past any rape lines at any point.
and voiding 7.9 if a squad is purposefully avoiding battles.

I mean if you find a squad behind your rape lines you could trap them inside and not shoot them and let the camp timer run out and get them specced one by one and they'll forfeit the match. They can't shoot you from inside your lines and if you don't shoot them it won't count as being engaged in battle.
There's no real reason to stay behind an enemies rape lines for very long other than getting position imo.

At the same time we all know this community is capable of pulling off some weird shit so who knows how else it could be abused. Presently, I don't think there's any real reason to change. I think it's a pretty nice tactic and add's another element to the game. But I'm always open to hear how everyone feels about it.

The dotted red lines around the bases. You're not allowed to recross your own etc, can only go through the others without shooting.

7.6 OPPOSING TEAM RAPE LINES: A player may only cross an enemy's rape line for an angle or ammo.
I know we did this two Sundays ago to get in the back door of the garage when USL was camping it on EC. I didn’t see what you were referring to from this past Sunday. If anything though the only thing I’d change about it is clarifying that such actions must be direct.

Assuming that you have vision inside your base and they're not behind a building

Should just add to rule 7.6, "A player cannot camp behind enemies rape lines." Ec has the biggest collie rape line so simply hiding in the top right then when camp timer goes off, move down to the back of the hanger, that is legal for another 2 minutes. After that, you can't go back to either spot. But still that's 4 minutes of the squad trying to find them. Eric found a loop hole, pretty smart one too.

Or give ref chat to someone in spec from your squad and sub in someone while they're in rape lines. You have full vision, and literally pinched yourself while not being able to shoot the person who just got subbed in. I did that last season but some retarded ref, guess which one, allowed the other squad to shoot inside our rape lines.
This season we had eric's squad violate 7.6 but I don't think it impacted the outcome since people on apoc were letting nos fight 1v7 while hiding 2 coords away. IDC was probably the worst offender when they subbed in Fausto vs BBB and camped next to their rape lines while fausto is staying in the rape lines. If I was leading for BBB, I would push fausto inside rape lines and easily get an appeal for that if someone on my squad got spec'd.

They did violate 7.6, but i don't care .. If the admin(s) of the league thinks that playing like that is okay and encourage games like that, then so be it.

I'm not really encouraging anything. I even said in my previous post that I think going behind the enemy lines is a bad idea and leaves you vulnerable.

And to be honest that rule is pretty vague. It's more or less stressing the fact that you cannot shoot while behind the rape lines. It doesn't necessarily say you can't stand still there. I would assume that the same camp timer rules would apply in that case. I did not write this rule fyi. It's definitely something we can re-visit at the end of the season.

Well I mean it clearly states for an angle or to get ammo, everyone knew what they were doing and I think you as an admin shouldn't like or allow gameplay like that for future reference, but that is just my opinion.

They went from the top to the bottom/garage area while stopping in between. That is technically getting an angle.

There is no punishment for abusing it either so that would have to be written as well.

Yeah, you can use technicalities and you're correct.
Again, everyone knew what they were doing and it wasn't getting an angle and I think you as an admin shouldn't like or allow gameplay like that for future reference, but that is just my opinion.
