The USL Dueling Ladder is officially open for Season 1. You can find the link to USLDL in the left menu under Fantasy or you can click here to register. PLEASE make sure you read the rules page and get familiar with them.
How it works:
You will be able to challenge any registered player and face them in a rated match where the winner is the first to win 5 duels. You may participate in up to 10 rated challenges per week and can only challenge the same player twice in that same period. You will be able to schedule a date to try and get the challenge done. You do not have to go by the dates accepted on the challenge. If both you and the other player are online at the same time you can do it then. The rated challenges are only official if a Staff member (Ref or higher) or USLDL Host is present to witness it. Remember, once you accept that challenge there is no backing out. So choose wisely. Any challenges that go unfinished in a week's time will be removed and rating deducted if necessary.
The Dueling Ladder uses an ELO Rating system similar to games like League of Legends and Overwatch. New users are considered 'Provisional' until they complete 10 rated challenges. After that they are given an Established rating based on how well they did during their Provisional period. Winning challenges against higher rated players will net you more points than lower rated players (obviously). In order to maintain your status on the standings you must remain active and participate in at least 1 challenge every week. Users who become inactive will not lose their records/ratings, they will just be hidden until they become active again.
There is a log that keeps track of duels being accepted/declined and scores. You will be able to view the full log and more details about each duel. The view_duel page will be very similar to the view_match page for squads in USL. It will show you both duelers along with their W/L record, their ratings, the score of the duel and the rating differences gained/lost from that duel. Each season will last roughly 2-3 months and will reset. Your overall/lifetime stats will be saved and I will be adding a page to view lifetime leader boards as well.
I am hoping this will promote more activity during the week, as well as Sundays. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in then please visit the USLDL page and register. And as always, if you run into any bugs please report them to me.
