Before I even attempt this, wanted to share it first for feedback. Since there are so many rape line issues and a set of rules, after helping hellspawn with his in the works zone, I thought about bringing it here.
Instead of having a line where we ref the rules over, what about making a fake line out of items or maybe just a boundary marker server side using way points. Then once a team crosses their own rape lines, it starts a check to see if they will re-cross it. If its an item, it'll auto pick it up and will be auto specced out on a 5 min timer. A referee can just unspec them if they want to avoid 5 minutes, otherwise it'll either A: put them back in or B: send an arena message stating their time is up.
For the opposing team, if its an item, once they pick it up, doesn't allow them to fire at all.. if its just a way point, doesn't allow them to fire behind the line. If the rape lines are voided, the items go away or the way points get turned off.
What's everyone think about this?

Ok, I am going to be extremely misinformed because I haven't played the zone competitively but my understanding of this rule is that it's bad juju to cross a certain area and control it.
Wouldn't the solution be to add physics and a line so that once someone enters they are unable to leave the zone/marked area? Much like I remember some of the bunkers in some of the earlier zones. You can fire out but enemies can't fire in. I'm not sure which zone this was but it was under a similar format.
That would punish players willing to exploit it however, like I say, my knowledge may be misinformed.

Is it possible to have it act as a barrier that can be exited but not entered?
If not, it might be better to have it auto-kill any player that re-crosses their lines, but I'm not sure how that could affect the scoring/stats.

Or just do what I said... Make the trenches to where if you leave the rape line you physically can not enter back in... yall niggas make this shit so complicated. #Backs2018

I would assume so, that's how the lines on the drop ship work? We should just do it this way

That's only for the opposing team mecca and I've gone through this convo before backs. If you make it one way physics, you can law those physics which base raping would turn into red vs blue base rape. The whole point of the line is to make it crossable for both teams at some point.

Wouldn't people run into it to avoid a death? Unless it counts as a team death I guess

Yeah, just count it as a team death. I think this would be a lot better than putting people in spec.

I still think the gamemode should include the enemy team being able to steal the opposing team's dropship and winning on that condition in a series of two 10 minute matches swapping sides per match. but im silly.

These are cool ideas Mizz. Two other potential items if they exist. First would be an item with a 1 minute timer inside of a team's own rape lines. They will have to leave the rape lines within one minute for the item to either turn off or disappear. If the timer runs out, they either A.) Die or B.) are teleported to the direct other side of the rape line.
Another would be an item that would count down when you sat still. If players sit still for the entirety of a camp timer, they die. Wouldn't be used as much because players just move around a general area anyway when camping, but still something to play with maybe.

Both of these would be an amazing addition and make life much simpler for everyone.
