From a reffing standpoint I think keeping track of flags would be too difficult if they are the equivalent of kills.
Like, in a back and forth game thats really close, I dont want to lose because at the end they were closer to a flag. I don't think anyone would want that.
Unless we added 5 flags all over the map, if you capture them all you win :) SL style but death match. Would give incentive to not camp.
Or 1 flag with a long ass timer 400-500 seconds, and you win if you capture it. As long as it's not in a camp friendly zone.

Backs, that's exactly what I was going to say. This idea needs to be in next season. No map defer, all by chance for sides.
Rule wise, next season will have automatic line crossing put in and will spec you out saying what time you can be put back in. It's already working on my test server. I can change this at any time to make it do whatever after a decision is made.

Camp timer should be 1 minute when greater than 5 minutes and 30 seconds when less than 5 minutes.
That or have HP degenerate if they're on the same coord for too long.

I like the idea of rotating maps weekly and using a coin flip type system to determine home and away. I also wouldn't mind removing the option to defer. The only problem is how things are setup in the database. In order to input a schedule I need to add a home and away squad, which could complicate things.
I think in the process of trying to simplify things for the current population we may have gotten a little too far ahead of ourselves and unknowingly over-complicated things.

Btw sov, death timer can't be changed on the fly. It's loaded into the client for the countdown which I can't change from the server side. So if I used some other method, you would see the countdown hit 0 and it would stay there till server said you can respawn looking like lag basically.

As far as some of the other ideas go, I am not a fan of adding any kind of flags to USL. The whole idea behind capturing a flag in order to get some kind of reward turns it into a CTF zone.
Ammo depots might be a cool idea to try but I'm not entirely sold on it.
I really like the idea of losing HP for standing in one coord for too long but I don't know if that's currently possible to even do with the game's code.

Whats wrong with players dropping more ammo upon death? Much more rewarding than an ammo box

Give a class 2 mines like how NML or HC or whichever zone it was...and make them one hit kill.
Would be pretty funny to see people rage over a mine death.

- Give meds 40 mm ammo for naders.
- There needs to be a real home team advantage. If you're home, you should be able to pick side as well. There's only like 4 maps and only 2 get used regularly. It's common sense.

That’d be funny as hell. But it would be a mine field if said person died unless what they created is destroyed.

How hard is it to create a new class? What if we gave nader some bouncy nades like in CTF, and c4 like junk rat in overwatch. That would actually make nader playable again and not too OP becase you still have to aim it

The whole point of an Ammo Box is to give incentive to not camp at your base. Dropping more ammo on death basically promotes the winning team to camp their base all game killing the other team and insuring they don't run out of ammo.

And 1 flag with a longer timer also gives incentive to leave your base with the lead. It's not the objective of the game to capture a flag as it is still a TDM league, but it would make sure players were forced to leave and not have such a stalemate. If you have the lead, try camping the flag.
From a league standpoint I know this is a small game, but if you were to ever get it on a large scale competitive level with serious money on the line, nobody would ever push, ever. They would follow rules to the T and it would be stalemate after stalemate and not make for good watching on a professional level. I know we're not there yet and probably never will be.. but there needs to be ways to circumvent the stalemate and camping issue. I've reffed more games than I think anyone this season and I've been struggling to watch them, nobody likes watching it or playing them.

Instead of ammo depots why not add a support class?
Dual deagles, shotgun, ammo pack item. 80hp. Ammo pack item "tosses" a item maker and depending on which class picks it up, it prizes a small amount of the appropriate ammo for that class.

Can you have it so anyone outside rape lines cant see vision inside the lines? That way bases dont get raped , teams attacking will retreat, and teams in ds can find a way to get out
