Mean Girls is a weird squad to say the least

The other night we almost beat idc in a sb. Granted, we had Mizzouse and Sol NTing for us. And maybe those 2 dudes do make that huge a of a difference... but I'm not sure why.

We go 100-30 when it's all 7 MG
We go 70-65 when it's 5 MG + 2 NT

I've noticed this all season when it's come to MG. We're like a bipolar squad when it comes to how we're going to play. Take the first 12-13 minutes of our match against TCT, we were right there with them. Then someone flipped a switch and TCT went on like a 40-3 run over the next 10 minutes. Then it was basically GG the last 6-7 minutes.

Maybe TCT was just toying with us. I don't know. But it's weird to say the least how well we occasionally do.

Well Sol is an AI so that's part of it and when mizz actually cares / tries hes pretty solid see the upset of new hope in playoffs or the upset against rejects as well. love you my Spartan brother... vegas soon?!?

Also(sorry work is slow so im bored); It was brought up already but if you don't want to try and improve or at least show interest in improving.. why would a top tier player help out? Look at abbaths post he's proactively reached out to players asking advice on how to get better since hes newer to the league.

On SOE I led Sparta for what.. 5?6? seasons we were shit but we had fun and I had the same core for awhile. But I got tired of losing and switched to WH where we consistently choked first round of playoffs to juggernaut every season. Then Par gave me a shot on Team Sabotage( who coincidentally I joined Carebears with once I realized this league was going on again for FI)

Sprinkle in a few inactive seasons due to work, a few fun seasons with fausto(not really fuck that guy) a salary cap season where WH won and I had the opportunity to play with Sov which helped get me into his group of players(I think idk)

Needless to say even after I became decent in SOE I had to work a bit after coming back from inactivity to get to play with these "top tiered giants"

Like kaga posted, if people would actually try to improve instead of troll(randomly switching classes mid sbs) then you would improve. Shit in your scrims I know you guys usually use NTs, ask sov to lead if we aren't sbing, ask leak if you aren't sbing them. Youd get some insight on what theyre thinking and how they proactively rotate and fight for angles and learn from it. /endrant

I'm actually inclined to believe that considering what a shift there was at that halfway point ;)

I mean, MG tries for the most part. We want to improve, and I think we have too. Losing Backs and going all Marines has been a huge boost to us I think this season.

We're still trying to figure ourselves out it seems like. We make idiotic plays still (myself among the top offenders). But I feel like we could have definitely made the playoffs this season. Granted we most likely would have the #4 Seed and probably gone 100-30 against NWA or whoever, but I definitely think we're better than our record shows.

We're gonna try this again next season. Hopefully we get a bit more consistent and can make that push.

The problem is these people who have played a few seasons think that the talent should be spread out, eating shit for 2 seasons is nothing like the amount of shit most of the players had to endure.

Every top player in the league started with shitters and then showed improvement so a top tier squad took a chance on them and then they continued to grow, it's just how it works. The more you practice and actively get better the more people notice and will take a chance on you, simple formula. Or what I like to call the cavebeast award.

Those players all started sk on fi or were still very new to it, they constantly improved and now could join any squad in the league. Torch will be a force in USL in the not so distant future as soon as he can be on a squad with active/good leadership he'll explode like his predecessors.

You wanna talk about dark times, I played on Mike C's squad for god sakes.

also myself & noskeeper were on a shit squad as well with his first season in USL on Statutory Apes.

Those are pretty dark...

I'm not one to advocate for spreading out talent just for the sake of spreading out talent.

It's up to the "stacked" squads as to whether or not they want a challenge.

It's up to the "lower tier" squads as to whether or not they don't wanna be bitch slapped and improve.

Make your choices, live with them. It's just a game at the end of the day either way. ;)
