I get wanting people to test your zone but this isn't how you go about it. its 1 thing to "make" people test changes for actual USL league play but to do so for a pub map makes 0 sense.

It would seem to be very difficult for them to approach people and set up a good time period for testing and advertise it rather than force it on everyone during the middle of a USL season. Which yes brings the players on, like others have stated you're delusional to think most the player base logs on for any other reason.

Hopefully Jovan/Mizz/Ace can enable our events again so we don't suffer at the hands of this awful decision.

I second this motion. We shouldn't be forcing play tests to happen, we should be working around whatever is scheduled (if anything) and letting people know when playtests are happening preferably 24+ hours ahead, so they are aware it's happening and can make up their mind if they want to participate or not.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I highly recommend to the players here to support new zone dev and to take a moment to help out with playtests, to build the pop up so that we can get an idea of how the new zone plays when it's decently populated and there are several skirmishes going at once.

However, it is up to you, as always.

I think as long as we're in zones designated with a "USL" tag then events and such shouldn't be touched. These are league zones and are governed by league rules and administrators. They might just be public events but they're public events that use USL settings and classes. I'm not sure if the intention is to make this a USL map or not but if it is then your argument about USL != FI doesn't hold much weight I'm afraid.

[League] zones should not promote public play of any kind. Seems kind of pointless when at the end of the night you're just going to exclude every player in the game that isn't a part of USL.

I completely agree. I actually liked when there were public zones up like NML and Triton Badlands. They were smaller maps that catered to our small population and had much more variety than rvb or gvy.

In fact, I miss public play in all other zones too like Eol, CT, CC etc..

But in the end it seemed that people wanted to just sit in USL to play the mini maps and wait for SBs to start. And I honestly cannot blame them because it is convenient.

The league zones ARE the public zones as well. They have public1 in them and are used nightly for a reason. It's public play. I'm sorry if that doesn't mesh with your view of what infantry should be. This is not Sony, and it's set up a little different here.

If other zones are put up and have enough merit to draw people to them for public play, then more power to that zone. It will mean that it's a good zone. But there's no reason to break the working game that we are used to playing to do that.

Have you tried CF yet? It entirely fixes everything that is wrong with the minimaps but retains the ability to support smaller population.

Have you tried to communicate what you wanted to happen with anyone other than Octavian? You can't just disable stuff in our league zones and force the population into yours.

Would it be that hard to set up a certain day/time frame for testing to occur in your zone?
