If you're going to have classes do bypass damage to armor why even give AT armor at all? The point of promoting support class usage is to make them feel viable and unique. So what if a support class is slightly OP? It gets people to play them and that's why you limit them to 1. Marine/Medic meta is still going to be better 9 times out of 10.

My two cents is a small range reduction on AP, and a minor armor reduction to kinetic, major to explosive.

agreed, but AT is OP right now... plus if you give bypass to ripper/nader maybe more people will play them if they know they can counter AT?

AT/LMG are great supports to have on aggressive teams that like to push.
Ripper/Nader are great for teams that play a bit more passive and can be even better on specific maps.
Sniper/Demo are somewhere in between.
I think Ripper, Demo, and possibly Nader need the focus on class changes more than anything else.

Make LMG OP too by removing the additional reload time needed if we use incin or throw a nade during reload

We let captains just decide to change everything without really ever playing them at teh beginning of last season...
Nader is nerfed to hell now, direct hits do 65 unless they're at enemy feet. Range was reduced too so there's some rocks they barely go over, class is basically useless now, even nfvi went to marine in the playoffs. Also we took away mortar? Why I have no clue, its not that good and hilarious when it works.
Ripper not being able to shoot through your teammates makes the class basically unplayable, unless you're OCT camping your ramp lines for some obscure angle, again that was a pre-season change for no reason that made the class useless.
Not sure what else you can change with sniper, just kind of a niche class.
Demo is just the worst class in the game, for some reason incin nade was taken away so they truly have no pushing power. Especially with only 3 demos, you're just asking them to suicide every battle. RPGs are still too slow and don't do enough damage as well.
LMG is fine, except the weird 30 second loads that seem to be happening (shadow nerf? LJENKS?)
AT is in a good spot, but definitel needs some tuning, not just nerf it out of orbit but reduce armor slightly, reduce range slightly which still keeps it the same playstyle just a little less of a juggernaut.

The long load time on LMG is so bad, what happened there?
Also Ripper has a 1/2 second delay? on firing shotgun after using ripper.

The whole concept of lower HP but giving it armor is just fucking stupid. I’d have to do the math but you should research some game dev concepts such as “effective HP” and “time to kill” - specifically “shots to kill” in infantry. What you are doing by giving it armor and lower HP is making medic’s have basically super effective at healing ATs - at least 20-30% more effective than healing other classes.
Also, trying to use damage types to have classes balance other classes is simply not skirmish. This isn’t CTF or rock paper scissor style balancing.
Is there any reason why an AT should be able to not get one killed by a law or nade? Or take more damage than marines? Why are we giving the fastest class also the ability to take the most damage??? Any class having any sort of speed advantage, let alone a burst one, is already a HUGE tactical advantage in SK that completely changes strategy.

Ripper is fine, it’s map situational. It’s great on KR , balanced on KS10 and slightly weak on EC. It could use a tad touch up but it never had bullets that could pass through players.
Grenadier - I don’t think anyone’s changed the damage for years or it’s range. It may feel shorter since it’s move and fire and you’re not compensating for distance you are going forward. Mortar was also a terrible mechanic - while very fun - it was just pure luck. Basically an extremely slow , hard to see and predict LAW that ignores physics. The problem with grenadier lies in the current maps and map changes. Quick example - old Nader was perfectly balanced on old EC, because the chokes were tiny and a grenadier could hold them. I already have a solid idea on how to balance it with the current maps.
But again, we’re hijacking this thread with other classes when the topic is suppose to be AT.

Because AT's weapon is dog shit except up close, so if you can kill AT faster you could just keep your distance and stream it out.
Ripper literally had bullets passing through people before the season started. Then was just taken away because Ljenks didn't know what he was doing.
Nader had its range nerfed right before the season,a round the same time they made the nades white because apparently people couldn't see them. If mortar is pure luck, why take it out?

Sniper bullets should be able to go through teammates then maybe some of you weaker players will play sniper.
All of y’all are dawg shit at sniper so that’s why 2-3 people play it. It takes real skill.

I could see at 80 up and no armor that AT would be terrible vs a marine. Fact is that now if you gave AT 100 HP and no armor, it would be a very close toss up between a marine and an AT. I believe AT would take the win in most scenarios where there is cover for the AT to use. If we need to balance the pistols, I’d much rather that than the armor and dash advantage.
AT is already wearing enough hats
- Great solo flank class with the speed, able to engage or disengage even when our numbered with little risk.
-Great class to peak into chokes and buildings or get gisioj
- Great class to finish players in close- medium range combat that are weakened bc of great burst damage.
-Great class to tank for the squad because of the highest effective HP and having a huge advantage to heals from medics that other classes don’t have.
-Great class to chase the last players alive in a battle that would have otherwise escaped.

Lolwhat? Ripper is bad everywhere but slightly ok on EC due to all the chokes for burst damage. You put ripper on KR and KS10 it would just be standing target for snipers to practice aim. No one is going to die to ripper streams from 3 coords away (unless you bad)
