<blockquote> Bowen and Smackrock Step Up Again </blockquote><br>
<span class=summary-title> Breakdown </span><br><br><span class=summary>If there is one thing this league should be thankful for, it's Bowen and Smackrock. Not only are they both staff members who are doing everything they can to keep the wheels on the bus behind the scenes, but they are also now combining forces to bring another squad to this league, and they've enlisted a number of old friends and teammates to accomplish that goal. The result is a team full of some of the kindest people (truly) in the game, all of whom are focused more on fun and enjoyment than on winning, although they wouldn't mind getting the win to boot.
Bowen has changed his name to Bones officially, which is the most suitable name change in the history of Infantry in my book. At the end of Season 25 he set out to create a true learning squad, enlisting several of the guys who regularly play with ThatDude and Smackrock, and combining them with veteran skirmish elements. ThatDude's crew has been familiar to us for a while now - Chica, Doghouse, Traximillion, Smackrock, and even MP are known commodities in this league at this point. But ol' Bones brought with him some faded legends in Mosh, Draco, Caved and Stoink. It's an odd group to see together in some respects, but I am confident that this group will have fun together and enjoy the experience even if they are pitted against K Dude.
Currently, I don't predict that Evolution will have a ton of success in the win column. I definitely think they will have had more success than Bowen and Smackrock have found in seasons past due to the competition level in the bottom four squads. And if they can hurry and find some chemistry in the ranks they might be able to snake out a win early with some coordination and solid individual performances from their heavyweights - Draco, Mosh, and Stoink.
Weaknesses however abound on this team. They don't really have a natural leader, although I think Bowen will do a serviceable job at that role with the assistance of Smackrock. I do think it leaves them wanting in that area though. Medics are real problem for this team, although the addition of Caved should help a lot and Chica did a much better job at staying alive in Season 25. But ThatDude should absolutely consider making this a marine season and bow out from the class altogether, leaving Doghouse as the 3rd string medic. Probably the biggest X Factor is Military Police, who has games where he murders, followed by games where he is on the receiving end of that murder. A little consistency from anybody would go a long way for Evolution, but I get the feeling it's going to be rough going for them, particularly against juggernaut squads like K Dude and Cocaine. Look for Dracolich to be the best marine and best player on this roster and maybe he'll finally get the accolades he has long deserved.
