Hello Community,
I hope this messages finds you well. I will be assuming the role of League Administrator for the foreseeable future. Bowen, thank you for entrusting me with the position. Everyone, please help me in thanking Bowen for his unwavering commitment to our league for the season(s) he was League Administrator. He provided insight, growth and guidance during his tenure. While some may not agree with him; there is no doubt he was committed to the role and for that he should be celebrated. Bowen will stay on headstaff in a new role, as Head Referee, he will cultivate a group of likeminded individuals to ensure proper coverage during league matches. He will also provide a voice for the Referees during roundtable discussions with the other headstaff members.
In terms of Headstaff- there are currently no other changes that have taken place. The current Deputy Administrators, Tactical and Victim, are staying on board. For this, I thank both of them- they are pillars of this community and the reason we continue to have a flourishing league. The advisors we currently have in Eric and Sov, will also stay in place as their wealth of knowledge are the cornerstone of our internal discussions amongst an array of topics.
Turning the page, I just wanted to provide some transparency and update(s) to our League. We have already discussed changes to USL Season 53's start date and a new date has been reviewed, vetted and approved. We will begin Season 53 on June 8th, 2025. I appreciate each and every captain that provided their opinion(s) on the prior start date and any conflicts it may have had with their squad, league, and/or CTFDL. Special shout out to the current squad captains that are also captaining and/or co-captaining in CTFDL simultaneously; your commitment to this game is appreciated. Thank you for your leadership. It is dually noted how open and appeasing the majority of our USL captains have been throughout the discussions of a USL start date; whether original and/or revised.
With that being said- A schedule will be formatted that will account for CTFDL's current anticipated regular and playoff schedules; we will not have matches the weekend of June 22nd, to account for CTFDL's playoffs and our USL players that will be participating in said playoffs. Aside from this- there are other adjustments to our normal USL schedule that will take place to ensure fairness to those squads and captains that captain more than one squad between both leagues. Our Administration will lay out a full schedule for the upcoming season within the next couple of weeks. Please note, the schedules will be discussed proactively with the squad captains and internally with the head staff to make sure we are on the same page going into this upcoming season.
There will be other action items we will be addressing as the offseason continues. We will revisit the rules, the baselines, potential classes and other items necessary to review and revise. We will also look at potentially adding an additional Advisor; this is a maybe, but we will proactively look into this.
Please note. There may be changes made you may not agree with. I understand we will not make everyone happy but just know that the league will always be our priority. We will continue to monitor the squads forming and disbanding as time goes on and make adjustments as needed. we will also view what is happening with our CTFDL brothers and see how their season/playoffs are transpiring. Ultimately we will look out for USL- its players, captains and community's best interests when making decisions. This is why we have pushed up the start date of USL for season 53.
