Is there a download link for the editor and a few of the common maps anywhere? Don't have them on this pc

Sho nuff.
In looking at Mizzs map one thing stands out that's diff from other maps: the map isn't that big but it's got a good amount of detail and asymmetry to it that it looks interesting at a glance. You can't pinpoint a repetition and it looks like it's been naturally carved.
I spoke to Palm about this - Infantry doesn't have any guides/approaches for new mappers on how to get a nice look to a map like that and I think it would be very beneficial to have that. Other games, mainly Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2 due to popularity, have a bevy of YouTube videos on this.
Even something like a mapper doing a commentary on their workflow/approach would be beneficial.
Food for thought.

And yes while FL Vietnam might have too many trees it points out how little use of water/bridges we see in maps - these are often off in corner or unimportant but breaking up ground terrain with a river would be nice from a fidelity perspective.

Just for clarification which maps are you guys saying you like from what I posted, lava one or the sl looking one where it has caverns by drop ship?

Lava one.
I'd put more emphasis on the water aspect of the green map, and make it asymmetric with water carving portions of it, cliffs and natural-looking ramps made from the stone. But I am aware that at that point it's much harder to balance and get it ready for a tournament-style gameplay.
As an aside, do we have the tooling necessary to bring new tiles and doodads into the maps? I think we have all the editors already, but we might be missing information on how to do it properly. An aztec/mayan-esque tileset with some stone walls would be good for a green map like that, to offset the same old "high-tech era walls" that all the maps use.

Why cant we do 2 map system, we have 2 zones with the maps up. Home gets to decide whether they want to choose map or side and away gets the other pick

Before that wasnt an option apollo due to the script overlapping and calls getting screwed up but I since solved that issue and it was literally so stupidly solved. A change in the scripts named fixed everything. Anyways im going to edit the lava station so if anyone has any ideas on what to change on it, throw them out. (Currently going to mess with how the safe zones are laid out.

Yea a connection there and make the bottom part connect to the other so the center looks like a doughnut connected by 4 bridges.
