Sorry for any typos below: I am on my iPhone.

First and foremost- our apologies on the delay of the offseason; both DP and I have been extremely busy in our personal lives to actively discuss this upcoming season. However, I hope this extended offseason has/will spark(ed) some "want" and "need" from our fellow player base to begin logging on as we get this upcoming season, underway.

This leads me to my next topic:
Staff Activity- We will be looking to make some room in our head staff/Referee areas with more active players, that will help us- grow this league in both activity and fairness. In doing so, some spots will be opening up. Please feel free to message the deputy admin, dp, or myself; if you're interested.

Next Season:
Following from my previous post about the upcoming season, I would like to get people's ideas on ways to increase and more importantly SUSTAIN our population. At this point in time, we need to work together to formulate consistent and fair competition between squads.

I believe moving to a smaller format will allow those of us that still play - the opportunity to continue to have league matches. It is no secret that activity has been dwindling for many seasons now.

*Currently the poll showcases the same idea, as smaller teams are winning the poll. I am thinking standard matches of 6v6 with the option to decrease or increase (if both captains agree).

Season start date:

I will be making a new poll on "Season Start Date" by Wednesday. This extra time will allow others to cast their vote on format. Ideally I would like to start within the next 3-4 weeks, but this is up for discussion (see below for reason). We would need time for squads to formulate, staff to be leveled and activity to pick up- however.. Labor Day is around the corner, which will put a speedbumb in our operation. Mind you: I am up for starting whenever the majority of the community decides on.

Head staff currently appreciates those players that have stepped up and have already started the squad forming process to help boost us into next season without a hiccup. Please let us know how we can help you and your squads in the forming process.

I am still currently on vacation with my wife, in Cozumel, and will be back on Wednesday. I will be out of pocket and will be checking USL site periodically till then. Feel free to reach DP or Myself directly or post here if you need anything in the meantime.

There will be another post this week with an update to the upcoming season. Please plan on beginning sooner rather than later. We look forward to another excites season of USL.

Hey everyone. I'm just posting to let everyone know I'm going to try and start a OvD league again. I know, broken record, it's been tried 3 times since the first season and has failed. With that being said, were gonna take a little different approach to it this time, and start small. Just for right now, we're going to aim for 10 players a squad, so 40 people total - doesn't sound too hard, right? Once those 40 slots are full, we will up the rosters and continue from there.

Captains have also agreed to not "stack" or place too many talented/experienced players on one squad. Now I get it, people wanna play with friends etc and that's very well still possible, but we're going to be very mindful when picking rosters. Everyone will get to play, so don't worry about that. The four captains are:

District
Law
Dinobot

Everyone on this list is a very good captain with the exception of myself. We all are going to be active and wanting to teach you guys. We are going to create an active atmosphere and even new people will get play time. I want to note the fact that zmn isn't a captain this season, so sabotage, stacking, ect shouldn't be expected.

I believe once we start reaching out to players to get them back to the site and our squads fill up a little bit, there will be enough players on to play games, gladiators and other events pretty quickly. Don't expect it over night, but once the word is lit that we're giving it another shot, we should see activity. Any players who want to help out in anyway, please pm myself or dp in game or on site. You can never have too much help. Zmn is going to start spamming people again, and flooding his Facebook. We look forward to seeing you in pub soon, and participating in CTFPL.

If you lower to matches of 5v5 or 6v6 all you will have is more people leave the game. More people will not be willing to make squads. Approx the same number of squads with less able to play. All this will do is further decrease the population. Make the change from USL to SL. Gameplay is the issue not squads and match sizes. Another thing is seasons should have squads playing each other twice.

My idea would be:

Longer seasons
Gameplay change (SL)
Make matches 8v8 as a standard. Enforce the roster wait times and eliminate use of NTs. Forcing players to join rosters rather than whimsically altering matches on a weekly basis.

USL is repetitive and battles are generally limited to 3 areas of any given map. Addition of flags creates an additional element to consider during matches and can help to facilitate action. That added with the traditional 80hp sniper, 3 death/spec gameplay and the best of 3 match format would be a nice change of gameplay. Not to mention how trees can alter battles.

While SL would make it harder on some you would not have squads getting beaten down by vastly more talented squads for 30 minutes and further pushing people out of the game. It gives players and squads opportunities to make matches competitive even if out gunned.

Just my two cents.

BRING BACK SL. BRING BACK SNIPER. FLAG PLAY MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR LOWER TIER SQUADS TO SNEAK OUT A WIN WITH A SOLO FLAGGER. ITS SO MUCH FUN. SL FOR LIFE.

If it were to be SL, i would make a slight modification...

Instead of a best of 3 in 1 night to determine the winner, it should be one match. Rolling with your idea of lengthening the season and make each squad play each other 3x to avoid any possible ties.

Starting the season before Labor Day is a bad idea

Esp since the Sunday before is the finale of GoT

Small teams is a good idea I'd even say maybe 5v5, with 10 person roster limits.

9/10 first week of NFL
