There seems to be no clear cut definition like the other awards, so i'd like to hear your opinions on how this award should be decided.

We've had players on staff win due to their help in decision making(fausto) and we've had a player win based on what they do for their squad.

How would you like this award to be handed out?

Support class (excluding med) nader/sniper/ripper/lmg/at

I am not a USL guy (CTFPL#1) but it sounds like this should be based on a class and not on someone's personal ability to support their teammates/league regardless of class/assignment. It almost sounds like there are blurred lines between a Support Player of the Year award and a Teammate/Team Player of the Year award.

Support award should not be an outside class, lmg isn't really support and nobody but backs plays anything else

If you do voting like we did when I advisor it's a fine award. When you have people copying and pasting the last peoples post without argument it becomes useless

Support should a player that the team couldn't really function without but isn't necessarily their best player

I'm thinking like kaga, me, yosh, Dave, leak etc

Like Zmn, I'm not a USL player so I'm not sure how this league is ran and how awards are handed out. From what I see it looks like they're given out post season and doing it that way makes the most sense because a majority of the awards are based on stats, however, "best support" isn't.
These awards are probably out of slight, out of mind til the season is over and to properly hand out best support, players need to be conscious of the accolade throughout the regular season.
There are certain plays that help shift the tide during a game like a lucky grenade or a perfectly timed flank. If a player does this type of thing and isn't the killingest player, perhaps they deserve the best support award.
Also dont omit medics from any award.

When I was advising and basically running award voting I'd update stats every week for awards and who I thought was in the lead to get them

And yeah a classic "intangibles" guy who does a lot of the little stuff to make the team better

Yes exactly, I like the idea of weekly updates, especially for this award. Having this trail throughout the season makes it more than an award that's just handed out to whoever.
Helps us understand why a particular player has earned it.

Well there is all that staff..advisors and analysts, why not have someone specifically for overseeing the awards.
I understand that people are busy with reality and this isn't exactly a 6 figure situation.
I was thinking of "applying" for an analyst position and I'd gladly watch over awards as well.

Nah I used the same method you did last season, and actually argued for QQ to get med award because of statistics vs better squads and on lower tier then cc. everyone else just copy pasted me aside from the cc vote. feelsbadman

You can't possibly say that person X person did more on squad A than X person did on squad B. There is literally no way to judge or measure that, especially if youre not on that squad. You don't know what they do in or behind the scenes of the squad especially if youre not on there. It's a flawed award that needs to be changed.

Example, how do you know Leak supported Infamous better than Kevin supported Sonichu? That is just an example but applies to every player on every squad, zero way to do it fairly.

Why don't you go by the most mvps per season since mvp is likely given to whoever wants it. Make it worth a shit now. Add up the total for each player that's given an mvp and there is support award.

Because you know leak leads/shot calls where Kevin probably doesn't use his mic in matches
