Ultimately, it's up to the players who are voting for the season to start earlier. If you fall into that camp then you should be the ones trying to get squads organized <b>now</b>.

I just think personally that the first option you just stated Emp does the best to fulfill all needs if there are really that many people that wont play on Sundays during GoT. I think that there would be some integral players from the league that would not show up and that season might be even sloppier.

Like Champion said though, it's up to those of you who prefer that option to do the bulk of the work here.

Yeah I wouldn't worry aobut squads though, if we set a date people will all join a squad, a few dominos have to fall (which players think they can join sov champ for an easy ring and which fall by the wayside and settle for nights watch)

I tend to agree with BB up above. Get this season going if GoT is actually an issue. Players who want a 3 month long off season or even longer can just sit the season out if they have no interest until playing in the summer as it is.

But I don't want to set a February 17th start date and we end up having stragglers making or joining squads on February 12th.

If you're planning on captaining a squad this season, do what you can to make your squad sooner rather than later.

Takes a lot of guess work out of my hands when I can physically see we have X number of squads as opposed to just hoping we'll have X number of squads.

I'm trying to find a compromise or middle ground here.

Sounds like some people are going to be unhappy one way or another.

Some players want a normal off season
Some players want to squeeze in a season before GoT
Some players want to wait until Summer'ish

Not everyone is going to get their way obviously. Squeezing in the one season and then having the next one start in the Summer might be the best middle ground.
