Just to piggyback off of Emp's post, I will make some polls leading up to the start of the season that will last about 5 days each (so please vote quick). Things like maps, format, choosing sides, etc..

I generally want to give backs the benefit of the doubt not knowing him that well but what I've seen this season goes from softcore trolling to detrimental to the league. Trying to cheat for one team then trying to turn it back around to get them banned is some real scumbag moves.

Just a reminder that the season will be starting August 18th. Please try and get your squad situation figured out so you have more time to test any changes we're going to be implementing. Don't be surprised by any changes that get put in that you weren't able to test yourself because you took too long to squad up.

Can we fix the appeal rules?
We had 2 appeals approved that were allowed to end without a second result. Meaning 2 if not all 4 squads wasted more time because head staff approved something without making sure their choices were followed through on

What would you change? When the first appeal ended in a no show, I set a hard date on the 2nd appeal to avoid that. Outside of that, there's nothing you can really do.

Just brainstorming here, if there is a legit appeal that is going to take place meaning a huge ref error or proven spec info, whatever it may be during a game, should the game stop there with time remaining recorded so it can resume where we left off? I was thinking that we could continue the game later if the appeal was denied. This at least gives people time to do the appeal and focus on that instead of trying to focus on a match. Thoughts?

That was an original thought when coming up with the rule. One idea was to call a stop to the match by the captain due to a ref error or other outside source and make your appeal there so that the match could either be restarted or start from where the infraction occurred. But we felt that this could be abused pretty hard since it usually takes a little bit of time to determine a legitimate appeal. Trying to deal with it on the fly like that and stop a match for what could end up not being a legitimate appeal hurts much more than it helps.

On the spot appeals would absolutely not work, you'd have to have more than one advisor/admin online without any ties to the squad, you'd rush your decision without gathering all the facts, and you'd possibly delay other games.

If you really think you deserve an appeal then you shouldn't have a problem showing the next week at an earlier time than the first schedule games.

I wasn't talking about on the spot appeals. Saving the time of where it happened and starting the game from there gives both squads the ability to keep their score accurate instead of starting all over.

That'd be ideal, not replaying the whole match is more ammenable to both sides IMO.

The issue is (which won't be solved in any appeal) is positioning. Yeah we can start the appeal at the time and score of the incident, but that doesn't account for momentum/positioning etc.. Maybe squad x was about to have an amazing pinch at f5 at the time of the infraction.. Unforunately I don't see a way around that.
