Backs has good marines now.

Backs has been averaging 20 kills per SB as Sniper.

The people at the top don’t want to see this.

That’s why they’re removing Sniper class.

I think it's a bit drastic to want to remove a class before looking at changes. If the intention behind this is because the class is "OP" then I think it's a bit misleading. The class was introduced around Season 12 and has been underutilized in almost every season since. The class does not disrupt league play and change the tide of matches in its current state. If this class was as OP as some people claim then there would have been more than 1 or 2 people playing it for the last 8 seasons. I think the majority may be basing their decision on SBs instead of the bearing it has on league matches. We have to remember that USL is the only "Skirmish" league left. It has no specific identity anymore because there isn't another league to compete with. We can try to be a bit more open minded and branch out from the Marine/Medic meta that we've been playing for the last billion years. We're already adopting SL configurations for SL Ripper Gun and SL PDW for Medic.

Sniper is a good example of needing to change your play style and tactics. If you're using a Sniper then your team can play a bit more passive and let the battles come to you. If you're against a Sniper then you need to be a bit more cautious or use a Sniper on your team to counter the other one. We've fallen into this trap of never wanting to change things up based on team comp. We are way too set in our ways and it becomes stale.

At the end of the day, I believe Sniper has a place in USL and it's the stubbornness of players not willing to adapt to that play style that resorts to the pitchforks.

Why is this even up for debate? There's a reason the class has never been used in the playoffs outside of Eric trolling. There's only one person that plays the class on a regular bases, there's zero reason to remove it.

the current iteration of sniper regardless of if its me trolling or just backs playing it is still a bit busted, point blank 75hp shots on a med 1 ar = dead, thats the biggest concern as fax and sov brought up in the other post medics are straight up not having a good time. if it goes back to kaiser pass settings where it was like 60dmg it'd be more manageable for the medics.

As is trying to balance all other classes around the 1 is a nightmare without having too much of a power creep.

I do wonder if we put the current kaiser pass sniper what people input on it is.
60 dmg per hit. Slower projectile. 60 hp. Min range. Lower range.

That is where sniper is going back if its not removed. Funny thing is this was actually what was agreed upon by all captains last season on discord before the season until one person just unilaterally decided they had veto over all.

We have like 6 full time meds and sniper makes their life awful

1 guy making their life awful? That's a bit dramatic. SBs are not league matches. AT had a way bigger impact in league matches this last season but we didn't immediately call for the removal of the class.

We did call for its nerf however

So the tiny amount of meds we already have shouldn't have fun in sbs?

Also out of the 7 people I see play sniper in sbs the most
5 want it removed.

medic lives matter

I apologize for my friend champion. He does not know that multiple people elect to play sniper in sb. As well, when he does happen to have a chance to play he does not go the one class that is most affected.

SB are not league matches; however, SB is a huge factor to people engagement to the league. People aren't having fun playing a heal bot class. People are certainly not having fun having to start healing once you drop to <74.

Also if I recall correctly AT was redesigned and had success.
Nerfed in the following season because of community input.
This season it was buffed (with no testing performed) that basically imo made it stronger than the original AT that saw play time for the first time.

Hence my post earlier where I mention how AT is only going to see nerfs.

That's the point. People don't play the same way they do in a league match versus an SB. Stop trying to rationalize class changes around meaningless SBs. Start balancing around SBs and then you're going to end up with league games being disrupted or completely boring. League balance > SB balance.
