As many of you may be aware, I have been getting a feel most of the day today on how captains felt about starting the season before CTFDL ended or waiting until they were done.
A small majority of captains did express they wished to start before CTFDL ended.
However, as with a couple seasons ago when we had a similar conversation on it..this wasn't about winning or losing a poll, this was about how much damage it would do to the league if we did start sooner.
In doing this exercise, I've learned that damage would be severe. We would be pushing an entire population out of USL...as well as pushing an entire population out of CTF.
We have built a strong partnership with CTF in recent seasons. Due in part to that partnership, we have had an increasing number of squads season to season, and CTF has had great turnout for CTFDL from skirmish players..even incorporating some as captains.
Therefore, TLDR: USL Season 53 will start June 29th. We will look at having some events and such in the meantime and we will figure out maps.
