I agree deaths are important and should be in the formula. That was never a point of contention. I'm saying healing is super important.

So give me some suggestions on how you would implement healing into the formula?
S
Give healing it's own column, factor it in to the overall formula in a couple different ways, kind of like you did with kills, deaths, and games. Healing per game, healing per death are obvious ones. Probably put healing into the R-Medic formula. And lastly, give something (either R-Medic or Healing) a small to moderate penalty resulting from the squad competition rating.
This allows you to keep all your kill/death/combat stats and also gives a more complete picture of the medic as a healer, while not skewing it to medics on worse squads by using your own competition rating.

The medic rating is more intricate than that of "combat" classes. The issue with healing like Champ said is it's a statistic that is skewed due to the players around the medic. While the medic may expend a lot of healing it doesn't reflect accurately when taken into consideration with the bigger picture. Marines on weaker squads take more damage which means their medics are healing more than that of top squads.
The way the ratings are set currently, medics are already receiving a more generous rating when factoring in squad ratings to offset the lack of kill production. I've toyed with the healing stat some and may have a solution to incorporate it into the ratings but I would warn that it will not generate much of a difference in ratings. I'll get with Champion and explain it and see how the outputs look when implementing it. Again it won't change ratings drastically, but will give a slight bump to those with more HPG.

I need to do some more samples from previous seasons but overall I think these ratings are pretty accurate. Much better than using the SL rating formula. This won't punish you for being on a lower tier squad if you can still perform well.

Are you going to do it like SL and have it listed under your name info or a column added into the stats(would be what I presumed)

yes it will be added to the user profile page and have its own column in the stats table.

I think champion is awesome for taking recognition of players like myself who clearly dominate the field even though I am on a lower squad.

Obv duels aren't incorporated into the ratings. It'd be better to only use duel results in calculating a player's rating

thx riley, i know champ stole ur thunder
To be fair, Champ had a lot of that formula together, I helped by finding ways to get tweaks in that gave more realistic numbers than the original formula was giving us, and to get the ratings to stabilize by helping with the competition element that was missing. This helped to rate players on performance relative to the squad they were on rather than just something not taking into account a squad may be +300 and another player may be on a squad -300.

How is backs 6th, he just lost to Tbxz in duels.
Backs is not 6th, he was just the 6th sample player used when developing the ratings. We needed a variety of players from different squads to sample to get the competition ratings accurately and it was easier using players that had played every game or nearly all games to do so initially to see if ratings we were getting were justifiable.
