I was going to keep out of this since I haven't been active as of late, but since everyone else is, I'll give my opinion. I'd like to add that I've never had an issue with and decisions made by any staff member.
Speaking as a current admin, and admin of SOE CTFPL Seasons 9-13 and not as a BB member - cause lets face it, I showed to like one game and couldn't care less about USL-, I had to admit that the reasoning for the appeal isn't worthy. People have been trolls long before now, and that just isn't any reason to give an appeal. The reason it's such a big deal on these forums right now is for that very reason. A squad played and used a gay tactic ( without breaking any rules ) and won the game. It's been happening since I first played SOE infantry, and will continue to happen.
I'll be the first to admit, Kippa, ninj and a few others on the BB are complete tools when you're not playing with them. They actually annoy me probably more than any of you because I have to read half of their stupid fucking rambling in squad forums, but that isn't any grounds to have a match replayed. Not only has an appeal been granted for no valid reason, but they've also been short handed by being forced scheduled and by OT rules.
The only reason I can think that the appeal was granted would be because some players on BB are toxic as fuck. What BB did in their game (going off reading captains/public forums) was use a shitty fucking tactic to win. If that is worth an appeal, then why don't every squad get appeals granted for playing squad who only play south? I personally believe that the appeal was granted to teach said players a lesson, which is dumb. There's lots of people I hate on this game and I never acted out and did something to hinder their game play.
Granting this appeal leave BB with three options:
1) Show up and play the rules set forth of OT and forced time when they've already won without breaking any rules. Pretty much saying I know you won but fuck you anyway!
2) Don't show up and then all their hard work this season goes to waste
3) Stop logging on/playing USL
All three of these options disfavour BB greatly. The second two options hurt the game and USL greatly. If all these people stop logging in and stop playing USL, you're actually going backwards from what you want. The decisions that get made in this game should favour the game, not be made to get back at people who are complete immature trolls. If you want to punish said people, do it as an individual punishment, don't punish the whole squad to get your point across to a few fucked in the head people.
Overall, all that has been said for reasoning is "poor sportsmenship" and it's just not going to cut it. This games already dying as it is, people haven't logged on in what appears to be like a month.
Is this the best decision for the league? Is it the best decision for the game? Is the chance of loosing a squad & 10 players worth it? Is loosing 5 players worth it? Do you want to portray the image that even if a team wins without breaking rules the ultimate decision ends up on if the current staff likes the people on the team? Is this how you want to reward a team that sb'd almost every night and is super active? It's just the wrong call, and at the end of the day nothing will change that.
Put the idiots on BB aside and look at the big picture. More people would probably be happy seeing the trolls go, but that isn't really how things should work. I'd be happy as fuck to not have to see Ninj type out stupid fucking shit about how he own's at real life but has to tell us because he has no one else to tell and hits his enter key more than ayb. I'd be happy as fuck to not read Kippas post because I can hear his stupid accent as I read it, but that isn't how this shit works. No matter what game you end up playing, LoL, Rocket League, etc, theres always going to be fuck heads and you'll never teach them a lesson without some cost.
I'll ask once more, is teaching them a lesson worth it? No, it's not. That is all I have to say, have a great day fellas! I await the immature responses.
