Z, I think most/all of your post is directed at me? Not 100% sure. Jeff posted my final statement on the matter. I initially said I wasn't shocked that you lagged and mentioned that there's been some leniency, if anything, geared towards you in the past. I remember when everyone was requesting you not be allowed to play at all (for IV?) and I was one of the ones that was against that.
You mentioned that if you really are lagging enough to impact a match or out of the norm, we should take you out. That's essentially what I said in my post. I said there are people like you that we know have a tendency to visually lag and that can cause a mental bias to watch you for lag more closely or pull the trigger when you get just a little crazy.
It felt strange that Jeff is complaining about gray areas by saying we didn't spec you early enough and we let you lag on a little longer than you should have been able to (in his eyes). You are complaining about gray area because you feel like referees aren't consistent. That puts us in an interesting position...?
So many factors go into visual lag and there's no real way for us to consistently apply it because humans are different and everyone lags a little differently. The only way to do it is to say the referee should have the call (we didn't have that spelled out before and there were weekly complaints about how referees handled situations).
