So the way this works is there will be a set amount each team can spend but not like a draft league where each captain chooses one at a time?

So say the max per team is 550. Have a four scale amount for all players. Top Players 100 and Middle road would be 75, Average would be 50 and bottom tier would be 25.

Pretty much, lyric. The specific details are still being worked out. Basically, the captain will recruit who they want and have to stay under the salary cap. It requires a bit more strategic thinking in terms of who you need and who you can afford, not to mention who works well together.

Well I think it could be just as simple as what I mentioned have 4 brackets and set a price for skill level, Instead of one player being 124 and one being 63 etc. If you are a top 25 marine you should be worth 100, If you are the next 25 then you would be 75 and average support players would be 50. New or not so good players or worth 25.

Pull together a ranking committee with usl stats to determine there price.

I see each designated team captain starting out with a salary cap, as you said. Let's say 550 for shits and giggles. Players are ranked and given an individual rating/cost. But then the captain and head staff get together, maybe on vent/mumble...idk, and have an actual draft using those numbers. Just like a fantasy football draft - For example:

Team C - Captain = Fausto - Cap 550 - Drafts #3 of 6

Team A - Drafts Champion - Cost 140
Team B - Drafts tg - Cost 110
Team C - Fausto Drafts ER - Cost 130
Team D - Drafts Pandy - Cost 110
Team E - Drafts Leak - Cost 120
Team F - Drafts Colossal - Cost 110

Repeat this process for as many rounds as we have players. I think the Salary Cap should be high enough to encourage teams to purchase 12 players, but I would set a player minimum of 10 to reduce the possibility of stacking. Teams stop drafting when they either run out of cash or players wanting to get in the league.

That's how I see it. Far more randomized than forming teams through personal relationships and it encourages captains to be strategic in who they select for their teams, particularly early picks. A good captain will ensure that no matter what he picks up 2 medics and at least a few quality marines, and that's how we get the competition level we are all talking about. Everyone will have fun. Everyone who is new will be given the opportunity to learn. And everyone who is a total bitch will quit the game. It's a win/win/win.

Nobody wants a draft league why would you assume it'd be a salary cap draft league?

Multiple people have said they would not play if it was a draft league or if they get drafted by someone they don't like lol.


I still say my way was the best group everyone in 4 categories 100,90,80,70 cap the roster at 1020. (avg of 3 per category) 12 man teams. Easy, quick, reasonable teams.

Awful 1st round picks Romulus, awful.

It would be fun to see mock drafts...

but we're shooting towards a more open approach so you can play with at least a -few- people you like (unless you're fortunate enough to have a mix of good players and bad players as close friends), but I would expect some additional mixing that hasn't occurred in past seasons.

It's just as important for the GOOD squads to drop players down to the BAD squads as it is for the BAD squads to pick up BETTER players. So if we have a group of people that form a lower-tiered squad that's well-below the salary cap range, it'll hurt the rest of the league and ruin the purpose of a salary cap.

Someone pls don't mention a salary cap floor.
