Agreed. I think a limit on the tiers is an easy way to spread talent, but it's more restrictive. If we lowered the cap to say 700, you can get more 100 rated players, but the rest of your lineup will be very low. Obviously that's more work, at first, to find the best possible number that allows the most freedom of movement but also does it's job in limiting the congregation of talent.

right you'd have 880, with 9 players... so you'd have 140 left for 3 players. Even in a 7v7 league 9 players is not enough for everyone to show up.

And of course you could just put all the best players on a team hypothetically. My teams were realistic as to who would play with each other as well, look at those 9 why would TWO people want to bench in a season of 6 squads and 7v7s? It's ok to break down the system with logic but just being unrealistic doesn't help anything.

And you can limit if you want the system would still work, if you limit every team to only 3 100 rated players, and drop the cap to 850, that would give you 550 to recruit 8 people with. which if you do the math would be impossible. You give captains 950, and a limit of 3 100 rated players all of the sudden they have 650 to spread between 8 players which would average out at about 80. I think 950 would be the perfect cap, if you used this system.

Cap set at 950 for 11 players.

ps: 650 for 8 players = 80 which would be the average of 90s and 70s left which would be exactly where we'd want the teams.

You could adjust it too if you wanted say

adjust it so there'd be at least 18 in the 90s,80s,70s
