Squad hoppers suck and all, but I really hope admins will look at certain people's behavior when considering captains for things like draft leagues. Hopefully they see some people arent worth the hassle.

Maybe when people who are complaining step the fuck up and take the place of questionable people we wouldn't have to rely on questionable people. It is as simple as that.

Regarding SL:

I specifically said the week before the playoffs there would be no NTs. Matches would be 7v7 or 7v# or 8v8. Ehav, after being told he couldn't use NTs requested 8v8. It's not my fault he didn't realize he only had 6 players.

Regarding FU vs BW:

I specifically said I wasn't waiving rule 3.2 because I didn't need to since I was only letting BW use 7. If I had let you use 8, why would I have continued denying FU an NT? I wouldn't have.

Anytime I have forced 8v7 it is because the squad denied using a NT. FU did not deny using a NT. I told them they didn't need one. And the match would be 7v7.

So even if you had been Sov or Champ or my own squad. I would have done things the exact same way. Because this is how I've done every match since becoming Referee.

Why it all of a sudden is an issue is because you're throwing a temper tantrum and I guess the H. Staff doesn't like FU for some reason. I haven't seen any other squads who were forced to use 7 in the past few seasons appeal or throw temper tantrums. Very interesting.

What have I done so wrong this season? I made ONE APPEAL and its been GRANTED, therefore it wasn't a bogus or non-sense appeal... Ive done nothing but help the league out this season, wtf are you talking about?

I'm not sure how this appeal was granted, FU vs So troll was 7s week one because FU only had 7. What's the different circumstances? Just because BB isn't a bitch like backs? This will not change the outcome nor did it affect the inevitable thrashing FU will put on BW. Waste of time for everyone involved not named Backs.

I've posted this in the captain's forum but I'll post it here for people who do not have access. Since this is now being put into the public spotlight.

The rule has been enforced incorrectly and since I never really watch any matches anymore I guess I must have missed it. I personally wrote this rule when I was admin, under the advisement of all the head staff/captains at the time. They specifically wanted 8's to be the default no matter how many players the opposing squad had. For a few reasons:

1. To encourage squads to give more players play time on their squads.
2. To encourage captains to recruit active players that won't waste a spot on their roster to leech.
3. Because captains could NEVER agree on the number of players in a match under the previous rule. Squad A: "I want 8's" - Squad B: "I want 6's" and then having to meet in the middle to force 7's. No one was ever happy. <b><u>That's why the rule now states that only numbers BEYOND 8 can be agreed upon by the <i>Captains</i> not the <i>Referee</i></b></u>

Squads have been forced to play 7v8 because of this in the past but now I'm being told it's getting forced to 7v7. I happened to be online and actually see that it wasn't being enforced so I spoke up about it. It's nothing against FU or anyone in particular but the rules have been so inconsistently enforced that we're seeing more and more appeals and drama lately. Either rewrite the rules or enforce them as written, not how you want to enforce them. This goes for anyone who is in that position.

While Backs may not be a league favorite, he has a legitimate appeal as far as the rules go. And anyone else who was forced to play 7v7.

Forcing 8s seems like it's counterproductive to the success of the league. The reality is people are not nearly as active as they used to be and the cap is 13, yes you could argue recruit more actives... but there's currently 6 people in the FA list, most of which haven't signed on in months. I think it should be default if you have 8 online but dont punish people for only having 7. Forcing people to play 8v7 only makes those players angry and not want to play as much, does nothing to better the league.

Then rewrite the rule. I'm not arguing that. I'm just stating the facts.

Either way you cut it, people are screwed out of playing the game and the active players are punished because of it.

So its not counterproductive to have players log on only to be benched because the ref forces 7s? Why would they show up next week?

Rule:

Match default is still 8v8 however should a squad not have 8(this does not include someone logging off last minute) it can go down to 7v7, NT's are allowed so long as they are <b>not on an active squad that is participating in the season</b>

And then we will have squads that will force players offline in order to play the match with 7s for whatever reason, seen that in the past. I don't know that you can really write the rules in a way that someone won't bend them, but I do agree that if you're not going to enforce them as such then to rewrite and just accept the fact that trolls (like backs) will skirt around them anyway.

Oh and Backs:

7.12 Stand-in-Ref: In the event that a referee did not see an offence but another staff member in spectator did, the Referee can enforce the rule accordingly.

Stop, he can take PMs and nowhere does it say the staff member has to SEE you spec, it says they just have to know yo did it to avoid without a shadow of a doubt....

Also, tell me where in the Appeals rules it states that the appeal should have been forced to 8v7?

9.1 An appeal is a request to the League Administrator for review of a decision during a match. This is submitted by one of the Captains from the match-in-question when the Captain believes that the match result may have been different due to the actions of the Referee(s) or outside sources. Typically appeals are requested because of a failure to act by the Referee (a rule not being enforced), or a wrong enforcement of the rule, but are not limited to this.

9.2 The League Administrator or any other Head Staff who is present and not involved in the match will decide the result of the appeal as quickly as they can to facilitate the schedule. If the appeal is approved, the match will be restarted and the score reset to the point where the offending error occurred, if possible.

9.3 A squad will have up to 24 hours after their match's scheduled start time to appeal a match. A captain or co-captain should submit such an appeal in the Captain's Lounge and should provide a detailed explanation. Appeals will not be reviewed anywhere outside of the Captain's Lounge. Captains should take every effort to let league staff know of an appeal as fast as possible. Best practice is to submit an appeal immediately following the event in question. This is to allow for the match to be replayed with the utmost haste. However, sometimes captains may not be aware of an issue until the match is over. At which point, the 24 hours will be their deadline to submit an appeal to be reviewed by the Head Staff.

Glad to see he's still trolling the league into hundreds of responses though.

And that's another reason the rule was put into place. Some squads felt that 7's was an advantage to them to try and remove a stronger player from the other team's lineup so they would specifically tell someone to log off and say they only had 7 players.

Yea Chris I do sort of remember that. You guys will never make everyone happy lol
