I check in all the time and never see anyone playing anymore.I have been playing on and off from the start up on SOE and its a bummer that its gone to this point. Some of the old school players have come back to play in pub but leave when the population drops due to squad play. I was just wondering if anyone else here notices this trend or even cares about gaining back population?

The only thing keeping population alive is USL

It's a vicious feedback loop. USL is what is keeping the game alive, but it's also what keeps a lot of new (or return) players away. But without USL, this game likely would've been dead years ago. The players that are interested in zones other than USL are welcome to play the zones they enjoy, or create zones that would cater to newer players, but they often can't find the playerbase to sustain so they fade away. The game is stagnant, and breaking that would take a lot of effort and will that few are willing to spend.
