<b>Season 3 Playoff Format/Schedule:</b>
While I don't expect this to be a popular decision, we're going with a ~2-week 4/4 format for playoffs. The first week will occur on July 5th, but any captain that feels that he cannot show his best lineup can request to postpone the game to July 12th (if any either captain requests this, it will be granted). 35% of players want to wait until 7/12, but the rest seem to be able to play 7/5, so this was the most flexible choice for all.

Playoff Week 1 (July 5th):
#1 seed vs. #4 seed
#2 seed vs. #3 seed

BOTR Week 1 (July 5th):
#5 seed vs. #8 seed
#6 seed vs. #7 seed


Playoff/BOTR Finals (July 12th)*:
Winner of #1/#4 vs. Winner of #2/#3
Winner of #5/#8 vs. Winner of #6/#7

*Any games that cannot be played 7/5 will be played first on 7/12. While we want to limit the playoffs to two weeks (so squads are, at most, out one week)... We'll extend the championship match to the following week (7/19) if we move more than 2 games from 7/5 to 7/12,



<b>Season 4 Schedule:</b>
A poll will go up shortly for thoughts around the length of the off-season. My expectation is that we will have 1-2 weeks to allow squads to form (3 weeks maximum) and ensure staff is set.

1 week break: Season 4 Begins 7/26
2 week break: Season 4 Begins 8/2
3 week break: Season 4 Begins 8/9

Why even have polls?

SWEET botr, SA can barely show 6ppl without having NT's and the rest of squads probably won't even show if they dont make playoffs.

No point in making a balanced season, if you want to make playoffs stack squads.

Next season squads likes SA and Legends KNOW they cant have ANY hopes of making the playoffs, all they can do is show up on sunday get rolled 3 times then realize whats the point? go inactive and dont show anymore (BECAUSE OF STACKING AND A 4 SQUAD PLAYOFF)

Gathering the information of public opinion is one tool he uses it would seem. Staff input, captain's input, and personal discretion are others. It's not an end-all-be-all way to decide things, otherwise, why have an admin?

If you want six squads, they likely aren't making the play-offs. There's a bigger chance but still slim at this juncture. In this scenario they sit around an extra week.

If you want eight squads, their reward for making the play-offs is playing CK/IV in the first match and I'd wager there's a 99% chance they lose that. Congrats? It's a waste of time, and then again ..they sit around an extra week.


Let's quit pretending like this is about SA/Legends when we know it's all about you. Earn your play-off spot and quit bitching about it. 4/4 was always the most logical play-off format for EVERYBODY involved.

Ice if you care so much about those squads and activity then help out with botr, I doubt you will because we all know you're mad about having to earn your spot in the playoffs and probably won't make it. Armor made the right decision. No more bronze bears in playoffs, welcome to diamond.

When I was on tickle party I made the same statement and we we're dead last. I didn't have to join them, but they needed someone to lead, so I helped out. If the idea to make playoffs only considers 4 squads, what does that tell the rest of the community? Imo it says consolidate the best players on a few squads and let the rest struggle. No matter what you say about not making playoffs, or getting better will change the fact that the same 4 squads, that stack every season, with the same fking players, will continue to be the only squads making the playoffs. You had a great chance with the squads that formed this season to say hey we appreciate the spreading out of talent, lets make playoffs more interesting and give more squads a chance. But the oppisite happened and now we are here. With the douchebag perspective of fuck everyone else I'm better than you get on my level, position of thinking,

Seriously you guys say OMG its an extra week of games that won't mean anything. I guarantee that the top 6 squads can beat each other on any given sunday, just look at the scores. Anyways its been a competitive season, but with 4 squads making the playoffs look at that to be different next season, stacking will be 10x worse.

If you think stacking and exclusion is the best direction for the league to take then the attitudes here are in the right place

I can absolutely see players on the rank 5/6 squads boycotting the BOTR tournament because they're upset they didn't make playoffs. Just because they're planning to do that doesn't mean they are right or that we should accept more squads into the playoff bracket.

However, I hope that squads that aren't able to make it to the playoffs <i>do</i> participate in the BOTR tournament. We may even be able to get one of our Photoshop-friendly league members to find/create a BOTR graphic.

Regardless, having a definite timeline for the start of the next season should help.

This isn't about tank or worms or af or sa or WH or legends. It's about the playerbase as a whole. Botr would work in later seasons with more activity, but right now I think its going to hurt a lot more than help. Seeing as how activity is already down, it's not a good idea at this moment..

IMO this is the most balanced season so far so stop crying. I don't really see how any squad is stacked in comparison to others.

You know ice you keep saying legends won't make playoffs, if we win the next 3. Yes we will. Anyways 6 squads in the playoffs, no botr. Keep it at 4 and it'll be what ice says each season.

If all the squads were in playoffs, we'd only really see those veterans concerned with awards show up at all to the regular season matches. If everyone makes the playoffs, there's no point in playing until those playoffs happen, technically.

While I agree with the 4/4 format, I am curious what the problem is with people wanting to be in the playoffs. Everyone wants to be in the playoffs. Some people surround themselves with other veteran players to the point that there is zero chance they won't make it, others play for mid-tier squads to help and improve in that setting while still having a decent shot at the playoffs, and still others join low-tier squads to learn the league, improve, and hopefully be picked up by one of the stronger squads. Everyone wants to be in the playoffs.

So why is it that the strongest players have to be complete douchebags about it? If anything, these players' desire to ensure a spot in the playoffs is clearly the strongest of any here. Go, play with your friends, and let the rest of us care about the game if you're too cool to do it.

Props to squads like Warhawks, who season after season play a good and classy game.
