Would it be pointless to let all 8 squads into the playoffs?
Maybe forcing 2 matches the first Sunday of the playoffs bringing it down to the finals for week for the second, one week of lower population only unless squads fade.
If not I'd rather do top 4.
First scenario 6 squads out for a week, off season next week.
Just my 2 cents by weeks suck.

There is 0 difference in allowing 8 squads in the playoffs instead of 6. It supports your same argument Albert.
By doing so you make the regular season null and void as there is no benefit in my team showing up every week trying to obtain #1, there is ZERO INCENTIVE and will hurt competitiveness in the league.

I can understand if Staley is busy and just hasn't put the poll up, but that poll for Daes is not doing us any good right now. Lets have some productive polls since the league obviously has some other concerns :)
For people saying the season doesn't matter if the playoffs were 6 or 8 squads, well that isn't true. People still fight for awards for the season (such as kill awards) and playoff seeding always come in to factor. The squad who has the 1st seed obviously would have an easier way to the playoffs. Lower squads would still be active (in a perfect world) because they know that they have to fight for their playoff seed. If they don't become better than they know they are going to be eliminated (or even potentially create a huge upset) in the playoffs.
I for one would think it would make things more interesting if this change was made. Staley & the staff, put all those other things people are saying aside. I believe what people are really trying to convey to you guys is they want to keep the league active and not have the player base shrink. Those guys at the bottom (for whichever squad it is) will become less interested in the game if they have 2-3 weeks without play. Then you have the off-season which is another 2-3 weeks (estimate) and you just end up shrinking the player base. We can't count on these squads just returning every season like somebody had mentioned. It will become less and less as they become more discouraged and most of them would be newer players.
If this was a super populated league I think nobody would bring up that we should increase the amount of squads entering the playoffs. If this was SOE early seasons this topic would have never existed. Unfortunately we face an already halfway dead game that is struggling to keep a returning player base in every season.
With that said, can we please put some sort of poll so this thread can die down? It'll just continue with arguments and rants and is already a long enough thread to know that people want their voices heard.
Also another thing somebody brought up that I believe would help with player base is lowering the roster cap. It would make for probably another squad and keep things competitive with talent spread more.
