Hey you guys got to 15 seasons of Free Infantry with 6 squads as an average turn out. That is horrible. We need change now /s.
The weird thing is we should have focused on classes that were once viable depending on the squad and how good the player was like leefyg/redbull playing nader or pandy playing ripper. Majority of the flaws for USL stale meta isn't the diversity of classes, it's the map.

I went this direction first chris because few people have access to a working map editor to adjust maps to make it more balanced in that sense, I think thatd be harder to accomplish in a month offseason compared to tweaking support classes.
While I don't expect most of these changes get implemented we're at the very least trying to make changes for competitive reasons. meanwhile during the regular season we can take the time to edit current maps(with HS's help) so that they're ready for the following off seasons for test and have that additional off season to continue making adjustments.

I remember why I left now. The amount of virgin fighting was too damn high. It is about shit that won't even matter anyway. Marines will always be the most used unless you force supports to be used

Or cut marine ammo in half, reduce clip size, and add a ammo crate to one of the support classes like had been mentioned previously.

Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong and the changes will be well received but this sort of feels rushed and as if they're just blanket fixes for an issue that stems much deeper. I think by slightly nerfing Marines you give people incentive to play the other classes. Along with a few tweaks to those support classes like a bouncing GL and the LMG changes you could make them much more viable. Introduce support friendly maps and you're likely to see support classes rack up as many kills as a Marine would in the right situations. Marines have a niche on all maps but as a Support class you can't be OP everywhere.

Do you really think people will stop playing marine because they have less ammo? That's a bit drastic.
Let's not forget that in SOE Marine always had 250 ammo and it wasn't until like season 3 or 4 in FI that it was increased.

I agree that we need new and different maps. Unfortunately I believe the only player willing to put a lot of time into them at the moment is HellSpawn.
I do not think many of these changes will be approved in the end, though some may be included in some form. To that end, I think it's fine to try reducing marine ammo and moving Sniper to 70-75 hp damage shots.
Give it two weeks, tweak/modify based on feedback, test another 2 weeks and then poll everything.
I know that Sov mentioned secondary rape lines as a possible map change. Can you expand on this, Sov?

all i want to do is run in front of an enemy rape squad, summon apollo and run away while he dies

Alright, my first impression testing it and going off of what Chris said as well.
Artillery Support: Useless extra class and I agree with what Chris said - "I think Grenadier should stay in and get the bouncy GL but also still keep the regular GL so you can decide which one to use in the right situation. Remove deagle and leave it with Shotgun." Of course keeping the Combat Knife as well tied to the Grenadier.
AT: I'm fine with how it is, just shorten the clip by 1 round.
Spec Ops: Fully remove this retarded ass class, I liked nothing about it.
Ripper: I'm fine the way that class is now, I forget what their secondary is up close though.. think they need something for up close like an sg if they don't have it. Honestly though, no one plays this class unless its to troll lower ranking squads so it really doesn't matter what we do to it.
Sniper: Voted to give them back 80hp while keeping the same damage. If this class could 1 shot medics, I would be playing it but again this is on the Captain of each squad to let you play it which literally not one captain will except if you create your own squad and force your squad to play with it (hint, hint). Another class change that doesn't matter.
LMG: Ok wtf happened to this? I thought you guys said lmg was getting the sapper flame thrower which I thought they had, not elite class. The flame thrower needs to be removed and that damage should go to incinerator instead without the burn affect. Also you changed the bullet which does not match the current usl bullets so those extra white tracer rounds are now gone. Then the damage seems off now... that class is broken.
Medic: haven't tested steron's yet.. DO NOT CHANGE anything else to this class except the ability to drop stuff.
The throwing knives are OP as hell... I like the idea but first off a throwing knife should not do 40-50hp per hit. Secondly, tie it to specific classes only like give it to Sniper, Sapper, Ripper maybe..... can't think of any other class that wont make it op.

All in all, the one class I want the most in USL is Collective Elite from NML. I'll fuck shit up with that class all day. My most beloved class out of all of infantry.

Lets have the lower seeded squad pick the side of the map they want for regular season only. Keep coin toss for first week and playoffs.
Let's do away with "squad ratings" as our tie breaker and go straight Wins-H2H-KDR- Than either whoever has more kills or less deaths.
Also add a mercy rule game ends when a team is up by 50 kills.
